mic 1,415
Her next album will be connected with the biggest decision in her career. If she would go the BTW/AP path again she will loose her international mega star status and become just gay diva. If she would decide to go back to the TF/TFM quality she may be number 1 again because she can make it. The question is: does she want it? Looking at her last times I think she doesn't for some reason.
Gov Hooka 8,008
I've lost count of how many times friends and acquaintances have in passing said, "Her first album was the best. Everything else after that isn't very catchy." As if being catchy is the only thing that makes music valuable I will say that The Fame carries some of Gaga's most clever and fresh-sounding lyrics of her career. It all sounded so effortlessly fabulous. And although Ill love BTW and ARTPOP to hell and back, her tone is different. It's very self-conscious. It's not necessarily a bad thing to me, but it's not something that'll get you to #1. Her train of thought took a drastic turn somewhere between TFM and BTW and telling her to "go back to The Fame" would be as easy as trying to become young and naive again. The influences of today and yesterday cannot be erased. ARTPOP is a time capsule of who Gaga is today. Self-conscious. At war with herself. In love and in lust. But, most importantly, I can hear US, her fans, reverberating all across her work today. Both the praise and hatred/negative criticism. Enjoy it while you can, because 5 years from now, "the new Gaga album" will be that much further from The Fame. excellent post
xzxyyxzx 116
Y'all is all wrong, dha Gagz needs go do what All the lessors did back when she was on top which was follow the trend... If I didn't want catchy music I'd listen to Beyoncé.
itmightberyan 21
I agree. I don't care about charts or any of that - but Born This Way is still her best album. ARTPOP is good but it doesn't have that special something in each song. Overall it's fairly forgettable for me.

Oh for ****s sake listen to something that's catchy then. Lady Gaga isn't the only artist in the world.
codymonster 8,595
ARTPOP is flaw-free though I mean really tho Legit tho, I feel like it's the most "Gaga" of her albums.
Bradley 59,150
Imagine if she makes music similar to The Fame, people would say she's running out of ideas... incapable of writing new material...etc... well unless she charts really good. People don't really judge the music by how it sounds, people judge it based on how it charts... Â I personally think that all albums are equally great, each differ from each. I think Born This Way is her best album, it's a legendary album, people are still appreciating that album even in the ARTPOP era, and I think The Fame and The Fame Monster are both receiving the positive reviews they deserve, even though Born This Way is always the best to me but the two starting albums are like the very first memories I have with Gaga, so they would have a special place in me. Â But I don't know why I seem to enjoy ARTPOP the most... maybe because it's new. When Born This Way was out I liked some songs but not all of them, but I seem to enjoy the entire ARTPOP album. I feel like it's more commercial than Born This Way (even though Gaga claimed it to be artistic, but nothing is more experimental than Born This Way), and I like commercial music so I guess I like ARTPOP for its simplicity and colorfulness. Nick 29
Nick stans for Applause In reality, though, is that I think Applause was a perfect blend of experimental music as well as maintaining a mainstream sound. And the public responded to it very well. Hi  And 100% true. It's a miracle the song did as well as it did, considering the verses and accompanying lyrics are totally experimental. That song truly is a divine blend of ART and POP and that's why it's so fantastic.
idldte 2
I completely agree. Â The Fame Monster is her best album. Bad Romance is a masterpiece, and is critically acclaimed. Other songs such as Telephone and Monster are also high quality well written pop songs. The album would've gone down in history if it wasn't treated as an EP. Regardless, the entire TFM era is known as her best. Â Born This Way was a decent/somewhat good, but messy album. However there's not a single song on ARTPOP which is as good as any of the tracks from The Fame Monster.
DriverMonster 10
BTW was what SHE wanted to make. She made ARTPOP to appeal to the masses. She wanted commercial success. If you think that's not true, you're fooling yourself. ARTPOP is a lot more radio-friendly than BTW. BTW showed her true talent without compromising. VasilisVas 5,182
ARTPOP is flaw-free though  to each his own. ARTPOP is by far my least favorite Gaga album to date and grew tired of it very , very quickly.
Gagz 2,579
Cuz i feel like a balance between the Born This Way POP and The Fame would be great. . You mean The Fame Monster? :lana:
saturn8893 30
What bothers me most about ARTPOP is that there is no coherent theme running through the album, as was true with her previous records.
