I did however choose to post the DWUW picture because I genuinely think that is one of the most powerful work she has ever created. The photograph might not have been taken by her but she is the one who decided to write/sing a song titled Do What You Want, perform it with R.Kelly (who has been accused of child ****oraphy and peeing on girls) and then film an "Unreleased" video with him directed by Terry Richardson (who also has a history of s-xploitation accusations).

I think it is an interesting take on the celebrity s-x tape and exploitation.

This is fascinating and I think you're onto something here

As much as ARTPOP's been rocky for me, I don't deny Gaga's impact and work. I kind of get where Didymus is going, in that  lot of what OP posted is mainly her working with other artists- but, imo, it's still incredibly impressive. To think, even when she's seen as "flopping", she's still striving to work with artists to promote what she considers is the message of ARTPOP, rather than just follow the path of her peers in what is seen as successful.

I'm not ARTPOP's biggest fan- partly because the album didn't live up to my expectations (still good) but also partly because of the possible discrepancies between Gaga's artistic intention and the dilution of it by higher-uppers- but even when she's not winning, she definitely isn't losing, and least not in my eyes.

I remember hoping ARTPOP would have been or at least started, along this vein, at least thematically.

me too. and i remember sooo many monsters eing so rude and judgemental for her doing that video, it was so upsetting to see because most people couldnt understand the talent and hard work showcased in that video, i mean ffs shes holding a note for like 28 or so seconds. it was all to improve her craft and her awareness and people just called it pretentious and "second hand embarrassing"
