unless she just finished her weeklong performance art and wanted to tweet about it. Either way, super unnecessary. It's not like Katy is the first or only person to have done that in the past few years.

I can't with people defending Katy over this, she obviously snatched the idea and made it more kid-friendly.

She had help writing the lyrics. I'm not saying she doesn't write the basic lyrics and flow mostly by herself, but to deny that someone helps her write them, would just be ridiculous.

She is a talented lyricist and that's what she stared as, but seriously... RedOne really helped with her lyrics on her biggest hits. You can hear it in the style. And they obviously worked together, because you can hear his and Gaga's influences in Venus.

 It's the same with Katy, she can just as well write a song solely by herself as Gaga can. That was my point. It might not be what you like, but she still writes the music she wants. They both do. McKee helped Katy as much as RedOne helped Gaga. There is nothing wrong with working with other lyricists. The ignorance and Gaga complex this fanbase has is obnoxious.

RedOne is not the same as Bonnie McKee, he's a producer first and foremost, not a hired lyricist from a camp of lyricists who can write a hit song.

They have completely different styles lyrically. How is that hard to accept? Should every artist write in the same style? That'd be boring as ****. She is completely different than Gaga. I do think Katy has some good older songs, Fingers, OOTB, Cup of Coffee, etc. Like I said, I don't really listen to her a lot, but I think the attitude that she's untalented is pathetic. She's not Gaga nor is she trying to be, she has a very different style and is fine with it. The fact that LMs obsess over it is just... 

 

I don't think they have equal input overall. I think they have the same input lyrically when they want it. Katy doesn't only take songs written by others. So what if she does? She's a pop star and she's number one. She's happy with her music and her freedom. 

I mentioned Venus, because it's clear that Gaga was influenced or even mentored in some ways by RedOne. 

 

We don't know that they mostly only help with composition- we know nothing of the back and forth that happens side from Gaga being highly involved and still learning production. Like I said, Katy is a classic pop star, she likes that. She's not pretending to be more, so the obsession with dragging her is stupid. If Gaga was on top, no one would even care. 

 

Demos are used a lot in pop. Gaga used to create them. Katy is a pop star. Get over it. Because she does that doesn't mean she isn't talented in her own ways. Besides, Donatella's instrumental says hi. That was a demo Gaga liked and wrote uninspired lyrics over. So what if Katy likes a song and most of the lyrics? She pays and gives credit to the songwriters. Her job is a singer/performer. Songwriters need singers and pop stars to make a living. It's the music industry. She doesn't have to do it all to be number one and she doesn't want to or have to want to. Why is that bad? It's not.
