I wasn't attacking Katy personally I hope she has a happy and amazing life, the same thing I wish to everyone.

Show me a song DJWS or RedOne wrote all the lyrics to. They don't because they are producers not songwriters. If you can't write an entire song by yourself I don't consider you a songwriter.

Comparing Katy's music to Gaga's music is like comparing Chris Brown's music to Michael Jackson's music. Basic v.s Quality. You're welcome.

lol. Gaga never copied a major shocking event that a fellow pop star did a MONTH before.

Also, just because I think it's cheap of Katy to pull a stunt like this, that makes me jealous of her? P-lease. Coldplay and Gaga have sold over 100 million albums combined. Ghost Stories and ARTPOP were/are both #1 albums spawning hits. Their tours have both been in the list of the top 20 tours of the past decade. I'm not pressed about success at all.

I don't care that she included it tbh, but I think Gaga shouldn't have said anything about the props. Millie saying something and tagging her is a much better approach, but she should have done it when it first got big instead of waiting until now.

RedOne didn't write her hits. And if you think that, you shouldn't even be a fan anyway. Everyone knows Gaga writes her own songs, with help from producers on mainly the musical composition.

She had help writing the lyrics. I'm not saying she doesn't write the basic lyrics and flow mostly by herself, but to deny that someone helps her write them, would just be ridiculous.

She is a talented lyricist and that's what she stared as, but seriously... RedOne really helped with her lyrics on her biggest hits. You can hear it in the style. And they obviously worked together, because you can hear his and Gaga's influences in Venus.

 It's the same with Katy, she can just as well write a song solely by herself as Gaga can. That was my point. It might not be what you like, but she still writes the music she wants. They both do. McKee helped Katy as much as RedOne helped Gaga. There is nothing wrong with working with other lyricists. The ignorance and Gaga complex this fanbase has is obnoxious.

They have completely different styles lyrically. How is that hard to accept? Should every artist write in the same style? That'd be boring as ****. She is completely different than Gaga. I do think Katy has some good older songs, Fingers, OOTB, Cup of Coffee, etc. Like I said, I don't really listen to her a lot, but I think the attitude that she's untalented is pathetic. She's not Gaga nor is she trying to be, she has a very different style and is fine with it. The fact that LMs obsess over it is just... 

 

I don't think they have equal input overall. I think they have the same input lyrically when they want it. Katy doesn't only take songs written by others. So what if she does? She's a pop star and she's number one. She's happy with her music and her freedom.

We don't know that they mostly only help with composition- we know nothing of the back and forth that happens side from Gaga being highly involved and still learning production. Like I said, Katy is a classic pop star, she likes that. She's not pretending to be more, so the obsession with dragging her is stupid. If Gaga was on top, no one would even care. 

 

Demos are used a lot in pop. Gaga used to create them. Katy is a pop star. Get over it. Because she does that doesn't mean she isn't talented in her own ways. Besides, Donatella's instrumental says hi. That was a demo Gaga liked and wrote uninspired lyrics over. So what if Katy likes a song and most of the lyrics? She pays and gives credit to the songwriters. Her job is a singer/performer. Songwriters need singers and pop stars to make a living. It's the music industry. She doesn't have to do it all to be number one and she doesn't want to or have to want to. Why is that bad? It's not.

You're also very biased. Outside of the fanbase it's a complete laughing stock. 

 

Yes, Donatella is obviously satire, but that doesn't make it good. Fame was better satire and most people think TF was basic.

We do know a bit.. Fernando Garibay said this in an interview a while back:

 

 

 

She doesn't need anyone to write a hit song. A lot of times, it’s 100% her. She's generous enough to give the producers who worked on this album a percentage of the songwriting for the production and whatever contributions we gave in arrangement or a few lyrical suggestions here and there.
