Why is ARTPOP considered and EDM album when it isn't?

Thank you.

I have been in the rave scene since 2008, listened to EDM before that, and now everyone is throwing around the words "rave" and "edm" to everything a popstar does.

Gaga is POP. She may EDM influences but that doesn't make her music EDM.

Go listen to actual EDM and compare it to what you guys think is EDM, you will hear a total difference.

I would love for Gaga to work with real EDM producers, like Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz for emotional trance tracks, Kavinsky for retro-house tracks, or even The Chemical Brothers for experimental dance tracks.

EDM is quite a wide bracket though, Avicii and certain pop songs are somehow EDM

I Don't quite get it, isn't most pop music made with electronic beats  :laughga:

If Avicii can be EDM for putting some radio friendly beats on folk-country songs, then ARTPOP is more EDM.

The ignorance in the OP. :wtf:

Martin Garrix makes music that is more stagnant than ... ALL of ARTPOP, in fact. Even I can produce something like Animals. Let's not even go near Selfie.  :coffee:

Here is one of my songs. I'll just leave this one here.

Idk what some of you are listening to but ARTPOP is EDM. However, it's still a Pop album so you can't compare it to an Avicii album....

Listen to the instrumentals.

The fact that Gaga's own fans haven't realised that Gaga's music is always hybrids. ARTPOP is EDM but its not a clear EDM record, it has plenty of influences. The main influence of the record is EDM, like the main influence of BTW is pop-rock and 80's Pop and the main influence of TF is Disco.
