Blunt 0
Why do i so often read that gagas songs are overproduced What does this even mean is it good or bad
Miky 9,426
It's a basic way how to say you don't like certain music when you actually don't understand it. Too many people here with moral superiority complex.
Tove Lo 2,481
It's when a song is too advanced for one to understand. hop on that **** like a maniac
degenerate 526
at yall ^^ It means there's too many things going on at once. That's all. Yes, it's overused on here.
monketsharona 50,995
To me that means more beat than voice; The producer put his music over Gaga's voice (which is bad to me..) To me (that's just my opinion) : Zedd and DJWS overproduce Gaga's song. But I guess that was their aim.
ryhanna 3,507
It means that the song sounds as if it suffers from too much editing and production work. Usually it's a common complaint if there's a lot of different sounds in a song or if a song is too 'loud,' in the sense that there's a lot going on in the song. It's a legitimate complaint but sometimes people don't understand what the term means. It's a basic way how to say you don't like certain music when you actually don't understand it. I'm sorry, but this is very inaccurate. It may be true that certain fans use the phrase as an umbrella term for music they dislike, but that's not what the term means at all. WarriorPrince 1
It means that the song has many synths and other elements that feel out of place. Gaga doesnt have a single overproduced song and whoever thinks that she has needs to get their ears checked xo
Elizabeth 450
The term over-produce has been over-produced on this forum I'm sure there are some legitimate criticisms in Gaga's work regarding 'over-production', albeit they're probably very minor. It's not a good thing to say something is 'over-produced', but without disrespect to anyone on the forum, there's probably only very few members here who are able to properly distinguish what's 'over-production' and what's not. I am definitely not one of them!

BTW was very messy compared to ARTPOP. it was also victim to the loudness war, just listen to Americano..
Kitana 1,814
i think it means that too many sounds play at once, which makes the track really loud. i like that tbh i always hate it when an instrumental sounds so stripped down You will learn respect! Spooky 466
Wasn't Born This Way supposed to sound loud, though? I'm sure all of this 'overproduction' was entirely intentional. CRYSTAL CASTLES // AMNESTY (I)
