RAMROD 109,386
It will help her expand the audience. Most of Jazz listeners are still adults. It will only be good for her to be taken seriously by these people.
Gaga is Life 101
I'd be completely shocked in a good way if it tops the charts worldwide. It's Gaga, and it's jazz which is a small market compared to pop
clefable 296
i think the album will do really well but i dont think any of the singles (if any) will do that well
Omegahedron 189
I think it will. This is what will happen: The album will get off to a slow start (don't expect big sales numbers), but if the songs / performances hold up then it could be sleeper hit and gather momentum. Provided the quality of the album is decent, I think the media and general public will develop enhanced respect for Gaga's talent and diversity as a performer and artist. Expect many comaprisons to ARTPOP, and people encouraging her to make a career shift. Jazz is, in fairness, a fairly niche music genre without an especially wide appreciation. However, I think that people hold a much greater respect for the skill, craft and talent required to make it work (much more so than dance music, whether you think that's fair or not). If it flies, expect it to soar.
GypsyHaus 0
Help? Help her out of her commercial 'low'. Whether or not we care to admit, she isn't selling as well as she used to
Truth 90
Help her out of her commercial 'low'. Whether or not we care to admit, she isn't selling as well as she used to  Ok, but as far as I'm concerned jazz is also a commercial "low"... So I wouldn't expect C2C to sell that well... Wolf 1,328
I think the album is not made for commercial success, but to show that gaga is a talented & versatile artist/musician
Gohan 16,414
Do you honestly believe that Cheek to Cheek will be Gaga's Saving Grace and top the charts worldwide and get universal acclaim! I honestly don't think it will be I just can't see it happening. I don't think it will under preform though, but it won't be a commercial smash. It'll be like ARTPOP I think- a respectable moderate success. I think it will get good reviews though, and might help people realise her talent, but as I said, I don't think it will 'boost' her in any way. What do you think :) Side note: In future, don't talk things up and expect they're going to sell outstandingly then call it a flop when it doesn't meet your expectations. Just some advice I never said the charts did matter though, I couldn't care less about charts positions if it is quality music. I only made this thread because people were talking it up and I wanted to know if everyone really thought it would sell well, not to discuss how it actually will chart. It was only intended as a question :) What :emma: tryna go ask Alice, tryna catch that rabbit
Slojo 51
It will be good for her image overall but won't do much for her normal Pop Music sales as it's unlikely that Jazz fans no matter how much they might like C2C will be tempted to buy ATRPOP etc In fact trying to compare C2C sales against pop sales is pointless. If you must make a comparison then compare C2C against other Jazz albums
Creyk 17,805
Considering a #1 album with two top 10 songs that has sold 2M+ copies is a moderate success, I think we're setting her up for failure no matter what. What are you talking about, it only has 1 top 10 song .__. Anyway, I guess it will help her expand her demographic amongst older people while tuning out her younger audience, because honestly I doubt it's gonna sound good, but each to their own. I don't expect big promo for it though, and only a lead single. I heard that jazz albums are not about single releases but more about album sales, but we'll see
GypsyHaus 0
What I was giving my opinion on how I think it will do and asked other people how they think it will do too. Maybe my reply wasn't worded properly, but I really didn't want to discuss how it'll flop etc, I just wanted a yes or no answer
Davidsonary 925
We'll just have some Jazz Monsters now Jazz boys can be quite cute sometimes, this is a win-win situation for everyone :hor: Oh hello. What is this space down here? Where am I?
GypsyPrince 237
Music not the bling. What are you talking about, it only has 1 top 10 song .__. Anyway, I guess it will help her expand her demographic amongst older people while tuning out her younger audience, because honestly I doubt it's gonna sound good, but each to their own. I don't expect big promo for it though, and only a lead single. I heard that jazz albums are not about single releases but more about album sales, but we'll see Dope peaked at #8 on the Billboard apart from Applause. Noam Zioni 1,196
I believe it'll do only good.. The critics will think that the album is "artistic" because it's not Pop, and people will appreciate her for get herself out of her "safety-zone" that it's the Pop music... I'm not a big fan of Jazz, but I hope I'll like a song or two ;)
