I was reading some of Rob Sheffield's articles. And I cannot really figure him out. For one thing, he proclaimed "Britney Jean" to be like Britney's second coming, her best album since Blackout. He's also claimed that Britney's version of Telephone is better than Gaga's, yet he was upset it was cut short in the Art Rave. When juxtaposed with his super A+ review of the Monster Ball... I think he's a guy with a special place for Britney in his heart and if you're not Britney, you better have a bandwagon or you're getting turned into click-bate.

Hmm, interesting. I'd like to hear more.

It's basically when talented artists go without being noted for their accomplishments.  Like I said with country music, Carrie Underwood hasn't won a single major Country Award in years (and she should because she's the most successful next to Swift).  No Female Vocalist win or Entertainer or the Year nomination.  All the awards have been going to Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton.  The shift in power is rumored to be because of the shift in management in the last few years leading the way for them to favor other artists.  It's so obvious that the media is catching up on it now.  There's a lot more details, but it's pretty much about how influential management is when it comes to exposure and success.

Wow, poor Carrie. I've noticed that of all the women in country, she seems to get the worst press. That's pretty unfortunate, she's so talented.

It makes sense that a big (wealthy) manager = strong influence. When J.Lo and Britney split with their managers the general public's/press's opinion on them seemed to go downhill - though Brit had other issues that exacerbated the situation. I also remember Azealia Banks subtweeting a former manager for planting false stories about her. I know people don't think well of Azealia, but IDK, I wouldn't be surprised if that type of thing happens a lot. The business seems pretty cutthroat.

Yea, and all of this negatively is why Gaga wants us to pay attention to the music, not the charts or popularity.

Putting Artflop was rude and completely unprofessional, but the rest are simply opinions...

I agree with the basis of your point that the article is riddled with immaturity and bias. I'm genuinely surprised that any periodical that even claims to be reputable would publish something so childish. It sounds like it was straight out of "Paws Down, Little Monsters".

That being said, Beyonce's BEYONCE is a wonderful album, imo (but I do agree that Ke$ha's Warrior and Britney's Britney Jean don't even deserve a 3.5)

But, just to put it into perspective: Rolling Stone, in the 70s, had a HUGE feud with Queen. They gave a lot of their most iconic albums ("Jazz" and "News of the World") absolutely scathing reviews (I believe the word "fascist" was thrown around). But, the music was the music and the band was the band. At the end of the day, despite Rolling Stone's pettiness and immaturity, Queen is still revered as one of the greatest rock acts of all time.

Although I am incredibly disappointed in Rolling Stone for publishing this, I bare in mind that Gaga and he music are still touching people and that means more than a good write up in Rolling Stone. That's what people will remember 30 years from now; not this flop article, or any other flop articles of this nature, nor the media caddiness. Gaga's passion will cement her as a legend and her music and message will live on because of the love she has spread. **** the noise.

We have forgotten our public MANNERS

Beyoncé newest album is one of the best out there tbh

There is absolutely no one in the game right now that matches her or even comes close to quality of music and performing abilities.

Even if it's not your kind of music, you have to admit the woman is pure talent, more so than any living performer (dare I say ever!)

She is talented, but imo this album is not as good as 4

It's true, the writer had no business being there. He clearly went in there knowing exactly what he was going to write. She could have given the performance of her life, and he still would have panned it. Hell, she probably did give the performance of her life.

It doesn't mean everyone should have or will have the same opinion as they do. They're not the ultimate thought factory so I don't see why love what they will say if they agree with you or hate what they say if they disagree

Its the fact that this just adds to the already negative atmosphere that exists about her right now and I think its frustrating how many professional articles trash her as stupidly as a pop stan on ATRL do. Its not about others not having a right to their opinion. And I hate that we're not "allowed" to get annoyed about the clear ignorance of negative opinions such as this one. He compared Venus to Papa Don't Preach, that speaks volumes. And whether or not he is the ultimate thought factory or not, its another unwarranted stone thrown at her head and that does affect her career.

Anyway, this is the same guy that stans so hard for Britney Spears that he delusionally involves her positively in just about everything. In actuality hes about as legitimate as a dumb stan on ATRL.
