ACT II doesn't seem like a smart move

Of course if Gaga releases an extremely daring and kinda pedant album (Born This Way, that misunderstood masterpiece) or a kinda mediocre and loser at the charts-war against Perry album (ARTPOP, at least for me and for a lot of people), it will mean the title and concept of those albums will be hated by some people, but it doesn't mean an album called ARTPOP cannot be accepted if the music is good enough, so don't be worried. If the new music is similar to BN but with kinda more exciting and modern production, people's gonna love it tbh

Ugh who cares about what the public thinks. Gaga doesn't so why should we? Just enjoy the music, I'm sure Act II will be brilliant so bring it on.

My thoughts exactly.

If she release an objective GREAT lead single, do you really think GP cares about the title?

to a little manager, perhaps....

Gaga knows what she is doing!

I can't believe I'd see the day when fans wouldn't be grateful for a new album.

Do YOU own the 4' by 6' Perfect Illusion promo Poster? Will pay you for it. Pic: http://i.imgur.com/UWuzumk

well... it's really saddening seeing some poor souls being completely blinded by Gaga saying she doesn't care about pubic/critics/chart performance... :(

she could say a lot bigger bull**** and some people would still believe it :(

Never that, just one associated with ARTPOP. You obviously don't understand what I meant.

Ah, ok! So you mean a sequel to ARTPOP doesn't look as good as a stand alone album? :)

Sorry I thought you meant the whole idea of one was bad.

An album named 'ARTPOP: ACT II' with songs on it with titles like 'Onion Girl' won't do well.

Gaga probaby realises this, and I very much doubt she'll do it.

I love it  :whitney:

I love it too! Just like The Fame/The Fame Monster duality. But not with ARTPOP...:awkney:

I'd have to agree with you. ARTPOP hasn't been received well by the masses; I understand we, her fans, love it so much. Sure it's sold some 700,000 copies WW but the reviews indicate that in terms of quality it's not up to scratch. I can agree with those reviews to be honest. It's not better than Born This Way or any of her previous work. It just isn't. In saying that, I adore it though. But if she were to release another ARTPOP, it's likely that it just won't take off for her. Singles won't do well. The 'ARTPOP' tag has already run out of steam in the media and with critics, and it has left people with a sour taste in their mouth.

If she decides to go ahead with Act 2, and it seems like she has - her best bet is to quietly release it during the tour at some point. No more singles from ARTPOP - just new material without an ounce of hype. GUY hasn't taken off and won't.

It has sold 700,000 in the US alone and over 2.5 million WW. It has sold more than the overrated TFM in the US. Also, its reviews weren't that bad, still more critically acclaimed than albums like Teenage Dream and Blackout. People here are just too quick to throw away something because of a few unprofessional reviews. Musicians like Liza Minnelli, Tony Bennett, and Adele have praised ARTPOP. Does that mean anything? Maybe, but it's all subjective anyway. Let Gaga do what she wants and release what she wants. After all, it's her music and her vision. Personally, I think BTW is her strongest work but I think ARTPOP is way stronger than the Fame ever was. And the ARTPOP tag has not really left a sour taste in people's mouths, the media is currently backing her up instead of Katy Perry & numerous magazines have used the ARTPOP theme in their publications. But people can continue to pick & choose what they want to see and make Gaga conform even further into the mediocrity of today's weak pop landscape.

TFM is not overrated. It deserves every piece of praise it gets. As does ARTPOP. Apologies I got the sales figure wrong - I knew it was around 2 1/2 million WW. I will buy and love everything Gaga releases - I'll still offer my thoughts from a business point of view however. (I do study Business and Marketing for the people who wish to insult my intelligence in doing so)

Look, the reviews weren't terrible but I think the music scene wanted to be blown away by ARTPOP given how big and bold her previous releases were - and it's clear to me that a lot of people weren't. The sales of the singles reflect that. It's not that I want her to throw away ARTPOP - I want her to better ARTPOP. Releasing a second act titled the same thing might not work for her given how ARTPOP has been interpreted by the media and non-stans after it's release. I want to see her grow as a business woman - she'll always grow as an artist/creator with every new release - but the fact is that the business side of things is quite relevant and valid here; no matter how much she says she doesn't care about charts. She might not - and I applaud her for doing so - but her label will always care about that, and thus it'll always be a part of it.

I do not want to see her conform to the mediocrity of today's Pop Scene. Sales and all that doesn't mean mediocrity. I just want the b---h back. The one who tells it like it is. The one who polarises her audience, who looks like something non-human, who commands the public's attention through statements and videos riddled with double meanings/imagery that means something. She's been very 'conventional' during ARTPOP to be honest, I want to see her turn that inside out like she said she would.
