Noam Zioni 1,196
I don't give af about how it's perceived by the GP, I love ARTPOP and I want more and so does she. The ONLY "smart" move there is when dealing with Gaga is the one that makes HER and her FANS happy, not the GP. THIS!!!!!
Edge 0
No please ! I hope Gaga WON'T c ur post ! I'll kill for have ACT II ! I need PARTYNAUSEOUS, TEA, Brooklyn Nights, Onion Girl… (+ more ARTPOP things!) Those could be included in the next album without it being necessarily called ARTPOP. Hybrid MonsTer 0
TFM is not overrated. It deserves every piece of praise it gets. As does ARTPOP. Apologies I got the sales figure wrong - I knew it was around 2 1/2 million WW. I will buy and love everything Gaga releases - I'll still offer my thoughts from a business point of view however. (I do study Business and Marketing for the people who wish to insult my intelligence in doing so) Look, the reviews weren't terrible but I think the music scene wanted to be blown away by ARTPOP given how big and bold her previous releases were - and it's clear to me that a lot of people weren't. The sales of the singles reflect that. It's not that I want her to throw away ARTPOP - I want her to better ARTPOP. Releasing a second act titled the same thing might not work for her given how ARTPOP has been interpreted by the media and non-stans after it's release. I want to see her grow as a business woman - she'll always grow as an artist/creator with every new release - but the fact is that the business side of things is quite relevant and valid here; no matter how much she says she doesn't care about charts. She might not - and I applaud her for doing so - but her label will always care about that, and thus it'll always be a part of it. I do not want to see her conform to the mediocrity of today's Pop Scene. Sales and all that doesn't mean mediocrity. I just want the b---h back. The one who tells it like it is. The one who polarises her audience, who looks like something non-human, who commands the public's attention through statements and videos riddled with double meanings/imagery that means something. She's been very 'conventional' during ARTPOP to be honest, I want to see her turn that inside out like she said she would. Brilliant .... THIS !!! flo 2
Since ACT II is looking up to be simply ARTPOP rejects, I really don't think it's worthy of a whole new album to add to her discography. She should just revive the app by adding the songs (Temple, Tea, Onion Girl, etc) and maybe sing some of them on tour if it's revived next year for another leg. popper 3
The reason why I don't want Act 2 is because I want a new album concept as I didn't really get the whole ARTPOP thing. I struggled to understand the pop more than the art. Still love the album though

codymonster 8,594
Tbh, I think that's why she SHOULD release it. The media is so flip flop with how they view people. They love someone one year and hate them the next. She's gotten a lot of flack for ARTPOP, but now her tour is doing great and the reviews are looking good. So, if she continues with Act 2, I think the media may switch a bit, and applaud her for staying true to her artistic vision, by continuing with ARTPOP, even tho in their eyes, it flopped. I always think that staying true to oneself will eventually get people's respect.
codymonster 8,594
That app is not going to be put to use, mark my words Even tho it's useless, I almost want her to use it. It's embarrassing that after all the hype, all it was used for was to make gifs with convulsing, floating pigs :toofunny:

jxckk 959
she should just release a few songs over the app and then move onto a fresh project, that way it won't be ripped apart by the media because they probably wont have picked up on it and wont have a lot to say. Bambino 24,267
It's not coming anytime soon. I'm pretty sure if the music appeals to the GP, they'll love it regardless of the title.
freebit 6,240
I'm torn on this tbh. I love the idea of getting new music, but at the same time I don't want a repeat of last years fiasco in the media. I hate seeing her get dragged, I want the good sis to have a break from all of that. If the material is strong, I think she should release it quietly for the fans this summer. If it's full of frivolous type stuff like Fashion! and Donatella it's probably best she doesn't release it (they have their charms, but some of the lyrics are WOAT, don't hate me y'all). However, if she's got some deep stuff on par with DWUW and SHICD hidden in there, by all means release it ASAP.

MelbHawker 6,583
I was not trying to insult your intelligence at all. You're one of my favorite users on here and I love reading your well articulated comments. However, I do think what you want from her is a little contradictory. You want her to have smash single after smash single while being controversial and polarize her audience. Yes, she has done that before in the past, however, she's at a different point at her career now and it just doesn't look like that is going to happen at the moment. Her fans can't have it all. It's either you let the b---h be herself, sell what she wants & let her real talent be shown to the public that they will eventually appreciate, or you force her conform to try to sell a product that she isn't happy with. Honestly, I think the reason ARTPOP struggled was because she listened too much to her fans and what they wanted. And in reality, her fans don't know what's best for HER. All the "slay" shirts and her telling Howard Stern all the wig changing during the Applause era prove that. She went into deep depression in late 2013 because people can't ever be happy with her anymore. She listened and watered down her sound & quite frankly the result suffered. ARTPOP is still a great record, however, its greatest criticism was that it was not that artistic for having the name that it does. If her fans actually would let her be in control, I bet we would have had a more ambitious sounding album, as Born This Way was. I'm flattered that I'm one of your favourites. You're one of my faves too - your avatar is very iconic tbh! I want her to do what she wants to do. If that means putting out a second act of ARTPOP, I'll support her, buy it & love the music as much as I can! However - I do want her on top. She deserves it. What she does, what she creates is of higher quality than her contemporaries. I wouldn't think what I want from her is contradictory - she's always been about challenging people's thoughts/views. About bringing issues that need exposure to the forefront through her music and her fame. About challenging society's view of what is conventional. I think that's what people love about her - even her haters. Her name is Lady Gaga after all. Half normal/half crazy. I think injecting some 'Fine Art' into her work was interesting with all the art references and her collaborations with highly respected artists - that was ace. I really enjoyed that. I don't dislike ARTPOP, I love it - I just haven't found it as interesting as her previous work. Excellent point in noting the album's biggest criticism was that it wasn't artistic for having such a bold name. I want her to make music she wants - that way she'll love it, & the fans will love it.
