Shaney 5,515
I just watched the Dark Horse video, but in general I could give a rats ass for what Katy does. I like some of her stuff, but I'm not a fan. So I don't pay attention to it. What angers me is that Gaga goes on and on and on about "stop the drama, start the music", and saying that the constant comparisons are what poisons the industry, yet now she feels the need to "shade" Katy. If she has to say something about it, she should do it the adult way: dont post some b---hy tweet, but directly confront Katy with it and just create a mature discussion. And besides, I haven't seen Nicki Minaj tweet about green wigs. Nor has Britney commented on Gaga's obvious "Oops I Did It Again" reference in G.U.Y., and the list goes on about the things that others did before Gaga did it. Yes, Katy probably "copied" some of Gaga's recent stuff (although I don't think it's that simple). But Gaga "copied" tons of other people as well - but gets less "shade" because she draws her inspiration from older references that have been semi-forgotten. Having a so called "matue discussion" would bring so much more attention than a tweet. Remember the Sharon Osbourne scandal? If Gaga felt the need to say something, then let her say it how she wants to without bringing this bull**** stop the drama start the music. Was Gaga really starting any drama? Not really.... The pressed gays are taking this far out of hand.
IziDominique 0
this just proves that the LM fanbase is not tight as it should be. cmon look at the others: katycats, navi, etc. Edited May 8, 2014 by IziDominique
Truth 90
Not really. She has gotten tons of **** from Madonna, the Mermaid gramma, and other stanbases. She shaded one time, ONE TIME, and half of this fanbase gets upset that their mommy monster made some factual shade. God monsters are such babies. No. You do not listen, read again what I wrote, before you reply. Thanks. And that's the end of the discussion, because I'm not going to waste my time on talking to the wall. Have a good day. Interludicrous 15
People seem to forget the difference between standing up for yourself and "shading". Gaga could've easily posted a direct tweet towards Katy if she wanted to. Open up a mature dialogue about it. This way she not only comments about the work and the "copying", but she also disrespects Katy as a person by "going behind her back" and not stating the problem directly as it is. Sakrai 4,759
This is awesome! To the cry babies ridiculing her, have some sense of humor... Yawn, your comments are the same in every thread... Gaga shouldn't do this or that... You're not her publicist or manager... Stfu You dont have to be someones boss/father/manager to know when they do something bad. Gaga did something extremely stupid. Being phased or angry about it is not the point. Gaga just did something incredibly stupid and petty. And she will deserve every bit of hate and shade and ridicule other fanbases and the media sends her, and shell have to suck it up. Oh, I'm just visiting-
Vanilla 664
It's like this fanbase is divided into black and white: the ones that actually care for Gaga and the ones that are quick to defend everyone else except Gaga. Three, actually. Ones that prefer Katy, ones that are a bit disappointed in Gaga contradicting herself but still love her, ones that love Gaga and don't really care she's contradicted herself I won't die, but I can't live without you
Slayer 9,227
Spreading love does not mean spreading horse ****. Love is given where it's due. Spreading love was BTW's thing. Respecting the artist is what ARTPOP is supposed to be all about. And the implications of that tweet just show she's full of sh!t. I don't feel sorry for her being pitted against other female artists anymore as she's quite happy to add fuel to the fire. Quark 7,098
Is hard not to look at them when her fans are constantly comparing the two and posting about these things online. I miss the cool, smart and mysterious Gaga who wouldn't even talk about her contemporaries, who seemed to be above it all. I hate this lame, unintelligent and embarrassing person who replaced her. The fact that she's even looking up Prism tour pictures is such a self-drag. She's 'dragging' no one but herself here

exoskeleton123 6
The reason I think that Gaga tweeted this was because I honestly believe that she is sick and tired of being criticized for being unoriginal when her contemporaries are getting away with it. It really is not fair. As far as the whole Born This Way madonna controversy, the two songs share the same chord progression, and a similar tempo, and instrumentation. No wonder they sound similar. As for Katy Perry, as biased towards Gaga as I am, I have to say that her management has plotted against Gaga from the beginning. The time when Gaga announced the applause release date, Katy magically decided to release Roar as the first single from PRISM, when she had just said in an interview that PRISM was not even halfway ready. It was a cool, calculated move designed to hurt Gaga's album campaign which I believe it did. All of these record labels do take competition into account when they plan album campaigns and i'm sure all of katy perry's people sat in a Capitol Music office saying "Gaga is releasing the 19th, we're gonna have you release on the 12 to block her hype". it just so happened that Applause leaked, which made the whole thing much worse. When Katy eventually does release PRISM: The Complete Rainbow Reloaded, Gaga should release ACT II, the same day just to screw with her, because it's not right what Capitol did to Applause. If Gaga showed off her tits and ass and presented the girl next door image like Katy I doubt she would be criticized for "being unoriginal" however because Gaga is not your conventional pop star, she plays piano, she's cabaret, she's theatre people who believe she is not mainstream aim to bring her down with stupid arguments that she's being original. I'm not saying that everything Gaga has done has been 100% her. Her work reminds me of the aesthetic movement known as modernism where she has borrowed from the past and incorporated it into her current work. Anyway the whole point of this is that I say good for Gaga for not taking anymore **** from people who copy her. Gaga is a true, real, artist, who puts a hell of a lot of time, money, and energy into her music, her show, and her fans. Why should an artist who doesn't put as much into her art get more praise, while a real artist gets criticized? ChvVolk 2,355
Omg everyone is acting as if Gaga went to Katy's tour and threw up on her stage. It's not a big deal. Shade is not serious, it's meant to be funny. Edited May 8, 2014 by ChavaWM
