IHE 563
IKR? Never on a fansite have I seen so many allowing their fave to be shaded over someone else. Like when that Lana diss song leaked, people were trying to be all "oh don't you be dragging Lana!!1!! This was years ago!" I was like We're like the liberals/democrats of the fandom world tbh, allowing ourselves and our fave to get railroaded. I think its because we all feel the need to distance ourselves from the crazy, death-threat-sending twitter stans, so we overcompensate. I'm tired of all these Jesus wannabe Gaga stans. Being kind online doesn't mean you constantly turn the other cheek...
feelitinmybones 0
People seem to forget this. This is why Gaga and Katy praising each other has always rang false to me. They sound like two completely different personalities, and I always suspected they really didn't like each other. I agree completely. I really think it is more to save face, rather than anything. Which I am not saying is a bad thing.

What this fanbase needs is to re-focus its claws and fangs into anyone other than GAGA.
rivingtonrebels 245
then Madonna's shade never should have bother anyone. after all she just said reductive She said she was glad to help Gaga write the song and performed a friggin mashup of BTW with she's not me get a grip
Kermit the frog 1,921
It's like nobody can do anything vaguely similar to Gaga without being labelled as an unoriginal copycat. Sigh. Yet when Gaga gets inspiration from someone else people praise it as iconic and original I fcking cant.
Truth 90
But there was no "Gaga" before she became Gaga. When she broke out, she wasn't like Madonna at all. However, Katy changed her image to cater to the audience that Gaga was building up to. PRISM release dates? Gay rights bandwagon? Anyone? She wasn't like Madonna? True, but she was much more like Christina, Britney, Grace Kelly, Cyndi Lauper.... and so on... Just mixed together, so it seemed to be fresh. And gay rights? Good to know Gaga was the first one to care about gays...
Neal 768
But it's b---hy. And the complete antithesis of the ENTIRE POINT of this era. :toofloppy: Spreading love does not mean spreading horse ****. Love is given where it's due.

Gagz 2,579
I'm just gonna keep copy-pasting the same thing: I think gaga was just tired of being the one preaching to fans to stop the hate, when katy didn't tweet about it :/ I also think she's tired of people comparing both of them Katy tweeted at Gaga how much she loved Applause and how they should team up to stop the hackers. She's since gone on to yell at interviewers for saying it's a competition, and said how much she liked Venus. She hasn't just sat back and said nothing. CroatiaGeisha 19
How would you like it if you see someone stealing your idea and taking credit lmfao Riding a horse on stage isn't some kind of grand idea worthy of copyright. Remember when Gaga dressed as a man for the VMAs and was instantly compared to Annie Lennox's Grammy performance? Or when she was compared to Madonna a million times? Of all people, she should know better than to stir **** like this.

Interludicrous 15
Have you seen the new Katy tour? Would that not anger you? I just watched the Dark Horse video, but in general I could give a rats ass for what Katy does. I like some of her stuff, but I'm not a fan. So I don't pay attention to it. What angers me is that Gaga goes on and on and on about "stop the drama, start the music", and saying that the constant comparisons are what poisons the industry, yet now she feels the need to "shade" Katy. If she has to say something about it, she should do it the adult way: dont post some b---hy tweet, but directly confront Katy with it and just create a mature discussion. And besides, I haven't seen Nicki Minaj tweet about green wigs. Nor has Britney commented on Gaga's obvious "Oops I Did It Again" reference in G.U.Y., and the list goes on about the things that others did before Gaga did it. Yes, Katy probably "copied" some of Gaga's recent stuff (although I don't think it's that simple). But Gaga "copied" tons of other people as well - but gets less "shade" because she draws her inspiration from older references that have been semi-forgotten. Gagz 2,579
She knows how it feels to be accused of copying, I don't understand why she'd do that to anyone else. Disappointed :( Also, this is not what ARTPOP should be about, just sayin'. This.
