Whatever you guys may say, the first time we saw a mechanical horse (or unicorn...) at a pop show was in 2012 for the BTWBall. And it's not a question of opinion, or of shade... it's a simple fact. Katy could have channelled the idea of the horse 1000 other ways, but she chose that one. Knowing how pop girls are being compared nowadays (especially her and Gaga in the past year...), I can't believe she didn't think this would be coming her way. It's a fact it has the same exact construction and everything. The way it is operated is identical - that makes it seem awfully close. She has done the horse for other performances in different ways though, the fact she went with one with a near identical build to the one GaGa used for tour and the AMAs is a little strange.
