Neal 768
No. You do not listen, read again what I wrote, before you reply. Thanks. And that's the end of the discussion, because I'm not going to waste my time on talking to the wall. Have a good day. And to you! :) One tweet, guys. ONE. You all are so quick to rip her apart from this tweet. Hasn't she proved herself to be an advocate of love and kindness already? She is standing up for herself, defending her art. What if she fully calls out Katy and say, writes a letter? The door is wide open for you to leave. Some of you are as vicious as the media. And on a Gaga fansite too. Slay? :emma:
Quark 7,089
She is not shading Katy directly simply because she is not serious about any of this. It was a simple harmless joke/comment about what her fans keep posting online. People seem to forget the difference between standing up for yourself and "shading". Gaga could've easily posted a direct tweet towards Katy if she wanted to. Open up a mature dialogue about it. This way she not only comments about the work and the "copying", but she also disrespects Katy as a person by "going behind her back" and not stating the problem directly as it is. MusicLover83 101
Pretty sure that was said before katy blatantly ripped her off tho it doesn't matter when it was said, her words should hold true to any situation. She is a role model to many people, and should not be allowed to flip flop so much.
rslayer 0
M-E-S-S @ those fans saying they are "disappointed" and "that's not what Gaga stands for". Y'all need a reality check. Online kindness and all that means being nice to each other online, as a whole. Her ideas were blatantly reused in a major pop colleague's tour, happening simultaneously with her own. She is not being unkind. I mean, please, she's defending her creative product. My work is heavily involved with creativity and image and I would be PISSED OFF if something similar happened to me. I know the proportions and situations are EXTREMELY different, but I think everyone here can relate. Being kind doesn't mean not being able to stand up for herself or callout bull**** when she sees it. Edited May 8, 2014 by rslayer

True... she could have just mentioned KP in the tweet and made it seem like a joke or just friendly chat. By her not mentioning her, it makes it feel like she's being shady. She's so wishy-washy when it comes to stuff like this. First she's above the drama, then she doesn't care and kinda lashes out. She's human I guess, but still... And some of y'all know people (fans and non-fans) take Gaga too seriously. Even when she shades and it's meant as a joke, people are ready to start a war. Tommy Monster 816
The reason I think that Gaga tweeted this was because I honestly believe that she is sick and tired of being criticized for being unoriginal when her contemporaries are getting away with it. It really is not fair. As far as the whole Born This Way madonna controversy, the two songs share the same chord progression, and a similar tempo, and instrumentation. No wonder they sound similar. As for Katy Perry, as biased towards Gaga as I am, I have to say that her management has plotted against Gaga from the beginning. The time when Gaga announced the applause release date, Katy magically decided to release Roar as the first single from PRISM, when she had just said in an interview that PRISM was not even halfway ready. It was a cool, calculated move designed to hurt Gaga's album campaign which I believe it did. I say good for Gaga for not taking anymore **** from people who copy her. This exactly to the tiniest point

superman 32
the fact that it got all these katy supporters pressed clearly means its true though:)
Interludicrous 15
Having a so called "matue discussion" would bring so much more attention than a tweet. Remember the Sharon Osbourne scandal? If Gaga felt the need to say something, then let her say it how she wants to without bringing this bull**** stop the drama start the music. Was Gaga really starting any drama? Not really.... The pressed gays are taking this far out of hand. It wouldn't be a bad thing if a discussion like that would get attention. Both Katy as well as Gaga have shown that they can be mature about eachothers work - and they got a lot of praise for being so cool about the whole Applause vs. Roar situation. It would be great to tackle an issue like this publicly because it's such a recurring problem. Gaga has stated that she loves to get people talking about problems like this, but with this blatant b---hyness she's starting a fanwar rather than starting a discussion. It only makes the grudges grow - nothing else.
