She began her career in 2000 at the age of 10 when she was cast in the lead role in the Mexican children's telenovela ¡Amigos X Siempre!. She later appeared in other children's programs and participated in their subsequent soundtrack releases and international tours. In 2003, her debut self-titled album Belinda was a commercial success throughout Latin America, and sold over 2.5 million records worldwide. The album spawned the number one singles "Ãngel" and "Vivir". In 2006, her second album UtopÃa earned her two Latin Grammy Awards nominations and was certified platinum in Mexico. It contained the top ten singles "Ni Freud Ni Tu Mamá", "Bella Traición" and "Luz Sin Gravedad". Carpe Diem, Belinda's third studio album, was released on March 23, 2010. Two days after its release, the album was certified gold in Mexico, after 40,000 copies were sold. The lead single of the record EgoÃsta featuring Pitbull was released to commercial success; a shift from her prominent pop-rock genre to more dance oriented. The album's second and final single is "Dopamina" was released in 2011 to moderate success. Belinda also stated on her Facebook that she was putting the final touches on her next two videos for the tracks; Gaia and Amor Transgénico which were never released. Her 4th studio album, Catarsis, was released on July 2, 2013, after months of being pushed back. "En El Amor Hay Que Perdonar" was confirmed as the album's lead single, then "En la Obscuridad" which made Belinda the only Latin female act with a VEVO certified music video, and finally "I Love You... Te Quiero" is the current single and its video will be released in upcoming weeks.
