Still not positive about vocaloids? Watch this!

Im sure that visually seeing these holograms would be pretty cool but i don't get the appeal. It's like going to a concert to see an interlude on a screen.

The main appeal to most concerts is seeing an artist you like, and hearing songs that you like being performed live. The same thing applies to a Miku concert. The difference is that it's not just one artist, but a vast number of different producers that create music, all brought together through the voice of Hatsune Miku.

Virtually every song (over 100000 according to estimates) are created by users that bought the software, hoping to be able to add vocals to their music. A large portion of those people share their works freely on-line for people to enjoy, and many put them up for sale on iTunes to allow people to show their support.

Thanks to the concerts that's now being held every year, creators now also has a chance to have their music played at a venue truly suited for music.

For me this is one of the big things that appeal to me. The concerts are like big celebrations to the Vocaloid technology which empowers ordinary people to create music in a way that previously was not possible, and a celebrations to Miku whose success keeps expanding the creative culture that Vocaloid has brought with it.

This mini documentary is over 5 years old now, bit it's still a great watch. Don't forget to activate English captions though, or it'll be hard to understand. :)

Besides all that I really like both Mikus voice and her character, and having watched the concerts every year, it really feels like it would be a really awesome experience to actually attend one.

Here are some footage from the Hatsune Miku Magical Mirai 2013 concert in Japan last year, which I posted in another thread. The first two vids are using footage from the live stream of the concert, and are of lower quality. The next two are from the blu-ray release, and the last is from the official Hatsune Miku youtube channel.
