Bummer…

Thirsty was really nice :(

Well, I like 'Thirsty', but this could be a hit, one of the best song on the album, with a payola radio and a nice video it could smash, but I don't know how much the label is available to spend on this project at this point, it's kind of dead and she seems that she doesn't care...

Mediatraffic: #MeIAmMariah - #31 23.000.

Total Worldwide: 155.000.

The state of Mariah Carey's Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse campaign is a hotly-debated topic on social media. The album is exceptional, so why isn't it slaying? That's a question for another time but the warm reception "You Don't Know What To Do" is having at urban radio is the first sign that things just might be turning around.

Mimi's infectious Wale-assisted disco anthem is the third-most added song to urban radio this week, behind T.I. and Iggy Azalea's "No Mediocre" and Mike WiLL Made-It's "Buy The World". A solid radio hit is just what this era needs, so hopefully it will continue to get strong airplay. (An epic video would also help.)

I still think that this project is dead at this point.

Mariah seems the first that she doesn't care :awkney:

This thread is dying like the album sales.. LOL

J.D. thinks Mariah's poor album sales will build over time.

Long time collaborator Jermaine Dupri is confident that Mariah Carey has another hit on her hands. Despite having the lowest first week sales of her career with Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse selling 58,000 copies, J.D. does not seem disappointed. He has faith that his executively produced project will build over time.

"I actually feel like it's probably one of her best albums she's ever made," he told Rap-Up TV at the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards. "I'm excited to see where the album ends up. I tell a lot of people, this era of music and this genre, they don't understand records that come out small and sell a lot of records."

The So So Def founder is familiar with these types of situations. J.D.who helped manage the careers of other performers such as Kris Kross and Shad Moss (formerly known as Bow Wow) explained that they experienced something similar before going on to sell millions. "So it's like the first-week sales sometimes don't really matter," he said. "I think people gotta start understanding. If you have a plan and you can put the plan in play, you just gotta keep livin' it out."

Mariah plans to begin shooting the video for her single "You Don't Know What to Do" featuring Wale, which was produced by Dupri.

:lmao: :lmao:

He seriously needs help for all the bull**** that he said about this era, and this way of deny the obvious has become ridicolous even for him, pathetic, the only true thing is that the album is good on quality, but the rest, please.

Where are the album sales at now?

Around 180k worldwide.

Considering the absence of promotion, no single, and recent music sales is not that bad in my opinion, at least not the worst (A.k.a and Robin Thicke say hi :)), it's always a top3 album at the end.

This era really isn't moving at all is it?

Never mind I am still loving the album :sara:

Apparently not :emma::sharon:

Even if they said that she will make a video for 'You Don't Know...', but I don't think so at this point tbh...

She was on holiday with her children in the last days, I think this era is kind of over sadly, but at least we had this album and the music is very good :)
