Doot 2
it didn't overwhelm me either simply because we basically heard most of the album through several performances months before its release. his songs on the album are my most played while others seem kinda dated now But lets be honest, the people that talk down to other Monsters because we want her to work more with RedOne or Garibay, or even Zedd....there is nothing wrong with that. 99% of my favorite songs by Gaga were produced by those people. This album was largely produced by DJWS, and its not really connecting with the general audience, so we will see if he can bring it for ACT II. But DJWS isnt bad. Applause is my bob, DWUW is my jam, and Swine is my *** popper.

I'm not trying to bash either RedOne or Garibay, and I do agree that their work together was exceptional, but I feel like the magic between RedOne and Gaga could be gone. I would love to see Garibay come back as well, his time was kinda short.
VforVendetta 2,024
Because they are ignorant. DJWS is the best producer Gaga has worked with.
Omegahedron 189
I don't think his work is messy. Quite the opposite to be honest!

Redone and Gaga just seemed to part ways naturally - their careers took them in different directions. Garibay though . . . it did feel premature, and at least at one point he was working on ARTPOP so I can't help but feel there is something less than salubrious going on there. XoXoJoanneGaga 629
I don't think messy is the right word, his productions often sound very clean actually. I just think sometimes there's no depth to them and they sound too robotic. Like ARTPOP (song) sounded very full of life at Swinefest but on the album it sounds empty. And Sex Dreams is too robotic
crybrowz 3,247
If anything his songs are too "clean" sounding imo He does get way to much hate though
Emvee 8,363
The only tracks of Gaga's I've ever thought were messy were Judas and Hair, ironically by RedOne who everyone here thinks is the only one who can save Gaga's career lol
TheFame Monster 8,924
No hits, well beside one And Garibay helped
nativenewyorker 1,190
Because they don't know what they're talking about and like to pretend that they know better than GaGa and all of her producers. Tell em. A lot of fans just want Gaga to be the perfect pop star and if she's not #1, they start playing the blame game. DJWS and the songs he produced have gotten hate because Gaga hasn't been charting like she did 2009-2011. The songs aren't messy, they're interesting and a breath of fresh air compared to everything else you'll find on the radio. If people want Gaga to be all about the money and chart positions, why don't they just find a new artist to fan over? Gaga is who she is and not even her fans can respect that. RedOne and Fernando have both done excellent work too, but ultimately Gaga has full control and if she didn't like it, they would make adjustments to fit her wishes. I think all of her albums sound tremendous on headphones, but DJWS's work, especially on AP, sounds particularly amazing when played on a large sound system. emiher 2
Let's just say if ARTPOP was doing as well/better than Born This Way they'd TOOOTALLY be kissing ass saying that he's the best and that he should continue working for her... I find many fans are full of double standards... Oops :Emma:
Wet Fire 7,437
Because of the underperformance of Applause (than Roar) and DWUW and overall ARTPOP, they want to blame his production. Personally, I think his production skills are mind-blowing.

Well this was actually what I was thinking after I posted that. We all know each of her producers is capable of creating very pristine pop productions, but many times their work with Gaga is loud and chaotic. Not necessarily a bad thing. But what I suspect is that songs turn out """"messy,"""" because that's the way Gaga wanted it. Her productions are not about sounding good as much as they are about telling a story. So many people thought BTW the album was too overproduced, but nobody ever realized that was the point. THAT is art. When you choose message over mass appeal. Sure, yeah, I think Judas, Hair, and BTW were messy sounding... But I still appreciate them as pieces. Their chaos is part of the tale.
