SpaceAce 1,058
I wonder why hasn't this been brought to Gaga's attention? Aren't there enough fans concerned enough about this to make a post at lm.com and upvote it? Gaga will see that for sure. I realize that I sound pretty naive about things though, it's obviously not as simple as that. While I'm really dissapointed by her lack of awareness and integrity - I'd hate to be the one to make her feel like she's ****ed up after she's already been through so much this year. She pretty much confirmed she's been severely depressed. While there's obviously a good possibility bringing it up won't affect her at all - I don't want to risk it and I really don't know how to bring this up in a manner that doesn't convey my dissapointment so strongly. Also, considering the reaction here, I don't even think this conversation would go far on a site like littlemonsters.com - virtually everyone on there lives so far up her butt and they'll get offended by anything suggesting that she's not perfect. Michelle 2,056
Do some of you really think she hasn't heard about the allegations? Its safe to say yes.. It's almost an insult to her intelligence to think she's that naive. She knows. Just like RKelly, I also read fans think she never knew about his past which is silly because it's well known. drinkmytears 2,332
Obviously you have a good point. Enforcing stereotypes is never good - this is why jury selection and other court processes are so important. Unfortunately it's something that we can't fully have control with. However, considering the fact that many models have confirmed that Terry prefers to be called "Uncle Terry", it's safe to say he wants to be perceived in this manner - but maybe just not publically at this point for the sake of his career. I wouldn't dwell on this with Terry because he certainly embraces his creepy appearance in his photos as well. I think terry is creepy and a pedo, but I'm basing that off of facts not looks

I'm basing mine off of facts as well and one of them is that he has mindfully made himself appear creepy.

LilVenusian 579
What a lovely well thought out written piece. I’m completely in the same boat. I agree the courts are just a formality (albeit very abused and manipulated one); at the end of the day you ultimately need to trust your instincts and natural reasoning, especially when it comes to rich/powerful people. All signs point to Terry being a total creep (same goes for R-Kelly). It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out. You only need to look at Terry’s “art†to see his disturbing/ degrading attitude towards women and his clear lack of professional ethics (im talking about the stuff that doesn’t get published on the cover of GQ). Just because OJ Simpson was never formally charged with murder doesn’t magically erase his history of abusive and violent tendencies. Of course Terrys not going to pull that sort of behavior in front of gaga. These sorts of predators often pull a Jekyll and Hide act, appearing as charming charismatic professionals but they are in fact more than willing manipulate those perceived below them in order to get what they want. This is why I perhaps forgive gaga; she’s obviously a very naïve person who is willing to see the best in everybody. She’s only human but it is always painful to see the flaws in those you idolize. My view of her has dramatically changed over the past couple of years. In my eyes she has gone from this activist goddess and artist whose willing to die for what she believes too just a regular flawed 28 year old who happens to make music I really like. I think it’s great to question the actions of your idol instead of defending them out of blind loyalty. It shows independence and originality as a thinker (isn’t this gaga’s whole message) which is ultimately more important than putting someone you don’t even know on an unrealistic pedestal. nomorescheisse 0
...In this quote, Terry is discussing how young models can break in to the industry. oh, and then there’s this gem: "A lot of it starts with me saying to a girl, ‘Do you want to do nudes?’ And they’re like, ‘I don’t want to be naked,’so I say, ‘I’ll be naked and you take the pictures. You can have the camera. You can have the phallus.’" How can Gaga, who has come out with her own struggles of being taken advantage of by men in the industry, not have the mind and conscience to stop working with Terry and to stop validating him and so many other men in power who prey on young women? I’m slowly and hesitantly coming to the conclusion that she just doesn’t care about this issue. What does her indifference imply in regards to her own experiences? I remember hearing her interview with Howard Stern where she mentioned she wasn’t angry about what happened to her but “sadâ€. I still don’t understand her feelings regarding this. Is she displaying maturity? But how can anger be the wrong response to someone getting away with dehumanizing you? How can you not be angry knowing you weren’t the first and certainly aren’t the last to be abused? If my memory is serving me right, in the same interview she said she was bringing her story up as a warning for young women trying to make it in the industry. However, in my opinion it’s not enough to tell women to be careful and to not call out the men and people in power who are protecting and actively engaging in this culture... Yes and yes. Thank you both for your posts. I feel the same way, and I wish I knew more about what Gaga's rationale was while working with these men. Two famous men getting away with raping young women of no affluence? WHO WOULDA THOUGHT!? We live in such a corrupt world...

Michelle 2,056
But why is she working with them then? maybe she doesn't believe it. It's impossible for her to not have heard these things. LadyCaligula 0
Enforcing stereotypes is bad...imagine if someone innocent was convicted because the jury thought he "looked" like a rapist Well it happens all the time, I'm sure. I'm sure biker types, rednecks, homeless people, etc are convicted of crimes when accused but are in fact innocent. Do I think Terry R is innocent, not at all. beepeepz 0
This is messed up logic, but I hope Gaga doesn't see these men as being "persecuted" and "misunderstood for their art" like she is, and therefore chooses to work with them because that's how she sees herself. The decision to work with them for her DWUW video, which stands for her being bullied and prosecuted, reflects that. Even though nobody outside of other rabid fanbases and Pigrez are actually actively hating on her.

Rae 86
Opening a can of s-xual worms. It's always the same with TR. Fustration on why Gaga is with this creep. He is disgusting. His proof is in his own work Terry World. Disjointed Creep. Proof, after Proof, and Gaga sits their not saying a word after 2 years or more of her fans asking why are you with TR? This is one subject Gaga does never touch. She says she is honest with her fans, but she has never said anything about TR bad or good and still keeps him as a member of the Haus. Well Gaga wants to complain about the industry - fine, but don't be a hypocrite.
