It's the 5th biggest market behind the US, Japan, the UK and Germany. French music is very successful here but international pop singers aren't as big as in the other countries. Believe me ! Rihanna and Shakira are the biggest international female popstars imo. I guess that's because french people like urban music (Rihanna has huge airplay because pop radios and urban radios broadcast her music) and french/latin music (Shakira).
