No offense but Cheek to Cheek (A JAZZ ALBUM) sold 131,000 copies, I'm not bashing Madonna, I'm just glad that Gaga is powerful.

Hmm I seem to remember seeing a certain jazz legend's name on the cover of that album, hmm. can't remember HIS name right now...But it's quite certain this hard to remember irrelevant legend on the jazz circles would have helped quite a huge bit on the sales front. And I'm not bashing, I'm just clad to state some facts ;)

and Tony Bennett, when you combine 2 different demographies, the result is obviously better!

Hopefully Gaga can pull numbers this good or better with her next solo effort and all her solo efforts when she has as many years into her career as Madonna.

Did Cheek to Cheek leak three months before the official release?

NO!

I want you to remember that Gaga and Tony didn't perform any Cheek to Cheek material at the Grammy awards or Brit awards or Ellen show before the album release, which was what Rebel Heart got. :gaycat:

Tony certainly has the capability of selling huge amount of albums alone, but I don't think it's wise to say that Gaga's contribution to the sales is not bigger than him, isn't it? Yes congratz to Madonna, don't see me as a hater.

That's what I'm hoping for as well. She got RedOne in hands so I think things will be interesting.

1.2M for 45S after 2 months on sale? hmmm

I think it's still good, given its sales are not that far to Sugar's, which is currently the likeliest to hit #1 after UF. But once that happens, then the sales gap between the two would further widen and it'd show more how much 45S under-performed as a lead single. Makes me wonder too if Rih could somehow pull a Sugar-like single come R8, I mean a post-album hit that could actually reach #1 and not peak outside the top 2.
