Supersonic 49,376
Case Closed, also known as Detective Conan (名探偵コナン Meitantei Konan), is an ongoing Japanese detective manga series written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama. It was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday on January 19, 1994, and has been collected into 93 tankōbon volumes. Due to legal considerations with the name Detective Conan, the English language release was renamed to Case Closed. The story follows an amateur detective Shinichi Kudo who was transformed into a child while investigating a mysterious organization, and solves a multitude of cases while impersonating his friend's father Kogoro Mouri and other characters. The series received an anime adaptation by Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation and TMS Entertainment. The anime resulted in animated feature films, original video animations, video games, audio disc releases and live action episodes. The anime spawns close to 900 episodes to date along with 20 feature films.

I typed that a minute ago, and I saw that it’s beginning shown on Crunchyroll. This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare. I saw reruns of the old episodes on TV some weeks ago, fell down the rabbit hole and found out that that the author of the series said "Detective Conan will last until I die" and he's like currently
Meruk Holland 2,128
I'm not at all caught up to the series, but I have most of it downloaded. I just watched it as a kid to the dub, and I kinda wish that the entire series got dubbed as well. I almost wanted to be a detective because of the show before I realized I hate criminal justice (as a study). Gaga says she loves crime documentaries, I wonder if she'd enjoy this series Oh, and favorite characters were Shinichi and Kid Kaitou.
LynpheaStar 880
Oh we love a classic Ah the times I came back early from elementary school to watch Conan talk about murders and suicides
Oriane 20,155
I watched a few episodes as a kid, it was great, maybe a bit dark for a child but better than a lot of cartoons for children. You popped my heart seams, all my bubble dreams

My country dubbed 4 seasons of Detective Conan and they basically just stopped right before the main plot picked up again. There was like a 90 minute special that closed several arches. I was basically forced to stop watching right before it was revealed that Ran's English teacher Jodie Saintemillion was actually the FBI agent Jodie Starling doing undercover in Japan to destroy the Black Organization. In order to organize my watching schedule I used a list from the German Detective Conan wiki that basically lists all episodes that are important for the main story line of the show. That way I just skipped filler episodes. I would recommend you a list in English, but the one I found is actually kinda bad and just shows character development or special appearances. http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/anime The current season is season 27. If anything, I would recommend you to watch all specials surrounding the black organization & FBI.

I grew up watching the German dub and looking back at it... it was actually a great dub. I've known that American dubs always tried to localize animes by changing the names of people and places, but the German dubbing of animes was always super keen at making sure the viewer knows that this is Japanese entertainment. I'd also think some of the plot would get lost in translation especially because Vermouth is both fluent in English and Japanese and uses English to evade the questions of Japanese people/investigators. Dubbing this in another language but English is pretty easy, but I think it would be super hard to make that happen in English itself.

I think it’s was around Season 10, but this episode guide is so helpful but I’ll definitely start looking into the episodes surrounding the black organization & FBI arcs. I can’t wait to actually start watching again, especially since it’s apparently been stellar in the past couple of years!

The last few episodes of the FBI/black organization had me on my TOES, I was on the edge of my seat biting off my nails IMO the "Clash of Red and Black" and the "The Scarlet" episodes are among the best of the whole series. The Detective Conan movie they recently dubbed is actually great too.
