Perhaps one of the most universally liked singers right now is Selena Gomez.

Her debut album as a solo artist Stars Dance went #1 and had one top 10 single "Come and Get It" (the 33rd biggest song of 2013). "Come and Get It" was a major success on Pop Radio, reaching #2 and was the 20th most played song on that format that year. Her second single, "Slow Down", didn't receive the same reception, reaching a peak of 27 on the Hot 100, but did reach #7 on pop radio. The Stars Dance era was cut short after Selena revealed that she was dealing with lupus.

Selena came back with the moderate hit "What the Heart Wants" later in 2014, for her greatest hits album. The pop star gave an emotional performance for the song at the 2014 AMAs. The song spent one week in the top 10 and peaked at #7 on pop radio.

In 2015, Selena Gomez asserted her freedom with her Revival album. Her lead single "Good for You" spent 11 weeks in the Top 10 and was the 27th biggest song of 2015. "Good for You" reached #1 on pop radio and was the 13th most played song on pop radio in 2015. Revival became her second consecutive #1 album. Selena's next two singles "Same Old Love" and "Hands to Myself" went top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 and both went #1 on pop radio. This made Selena one of the few acts this century to have an album with three #1 pop radio songs from one album. "Kill Em With Kindness" ended the Revival era and saw moderate success.

So now, here we are in 2017, with a Selena Gomez album dropping this year. After Selena's emotional acceptance speech at the 2016 AMA's it seems like public love for Selena is it an all time high. Perhaps Selena's next era will be one of the major eras of 2017. What do you think?

I hope she has more success, I loved the Revival era so much.

We have two selves. One the world needs us to be, compliant, and the shadow. Ignore it and life is forever suffering.

Revival was a total revival after Stars Dance (decent album, but pretty forgetable).  I can see her getting bigger in the next era.

Literally everyone is here for her, and she's a nice genuine girl, I hope she and Miley skyrocket tbh

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

If the album is as good as Revival(one of my faves last year) than I dont see why she couldnt be as big or even bigger. I root for her

I think she can be a mini Rihanna. She's now a known force in the music industry and can get hits. She's a great choice for people to send songs to.

It has the chance too but hopefully it's deserving of the level of success it'll receive. Don't get me wrong, I've always loved Selena- she's sweet, but let's face it she's not a great singer. Small range with average control. She's just milking success off her looks

I liked Revival... but I hated the lead single. I felt it was too boring.

but she had me back with Hands To Myself and Kill'em With Kindess. love both of those songs

I don't like her, but i think S3 will have the same success as Revival, even more if one video is somehow controversial, or if she includes a popular feature.
