Lady Gaga Messes Up Lyrics to Million Reasons TWICE

While performing Million Reasons on both SNL and Howard Stern, Lady Gaga sings the lyrics to the second verse differently than the studio version. Is she doing this on purpose or does she keep forgetting the lyrics to her own song?

The original lyrics go - "And if you say something that you might even mean, it's hard to even fathom which parts I should believe."

She's been singing - "And if you say something that you might even mean, it's hard to even fathom how much I should believe."

At this point, it's hard to even fathom which parts we should believe :lolga:

Take a look at her SNL performance and decide for yourself. Is this an honest mistake, or is she changing her lyrics after the album has been released on purpose?

I've noticed this but I think she just wants to change it up a little. Lots of artists do it like David Bowie, Queen, etc.

Or they were just messing IDK :cryga:

the original lyric she wrote was 'how much', and then changed to 'which parts'

We can see her type written lyric, It's written 'How Much'

I caught this as well. She's changed up lyrics before though, like how she would add "I want you to know" in some performances of "Poker Face." In this case, both sets of lyrics sound fine to me.

So maybe she keeps forgetting that she changed it for the studio version?

I noticed this too. Mayne she couldn't decide which lyrics to put in the song so just sings live the other version.

I'm loving the spontaneity in her performances (sitting on top of the piano). That's not reheasered. That's not calculated. I don't call out other pop girls when they're lip synching or make mistakes in performances. The question is irrelevant.

I think so. Something recently happened to me with my presentation for French class. I changed a line the night before but stuck to my original when I presented. Idk. Maybe the lyric flowed better at that particular moment for her?

The question is just as relevant as any other discussion. It's just a curiosity, not a judgment. I love the spontaneity also! I actually prefer the live performances over the studio version, regardless of the lyric change :)

Compared to the other ridiculous theories that people pour hours into investigating on this forum, discussing a simple lyric change isn't really looking far into anything.
