Why do you think Billboard sucked off Taylor Sw*ft's **** during her 1989 era, it's because they only care about charts and popularity :grr:

Billboard Magazine is a shell of its former self. Their descent began when they hired Janice Min to be editor-in-chief. She launched her career by revitalizing 'Us' Magazine in the early 2000's by turning it into 'Us Weekly' and chasing celebrity gossip (she is single-handedly responsible for creating the 'Brangelina' craze, as well as 'Bennifer' and all the others of that time).

She now oversees trade publications 'Hollywood Reporter' and 'Billboard.' However, because we are now in the digital age, she's pushed them outside their identities as trade publications and turned them into digital media powerhouses, tracking more gossip stories than industry news.

As many of you will recall, it all came to a head last year when a long-time Billboard staffer quit in a very public, explosive manner and published this open letter, criticizing her for what she's done to the Billboard brand... particularly for rewarding Lady Gaga as 'Artist of the Year', presumably after Gaga "paid" Billboard for the honor:

And Prince even Tweeted the letter and asked his followers for thoughts:

I also believe this was confirmed fake. I don't have the receipts but I remember being shook af when it came out but then other monsters did some detective work and found out it was a Gaga smear - which makes sense, especially with the 'cheating up the charts' comment which is probably in reference to the Born This Way Amazon discount scandal.

Who cares, I'm not worried about what billboard or Rolling Stones has to say! There is nothing but closed minded,   Non-talented middle class average journalists writing for them anyways. Everybody has a opinion about something they can't and don't have the ability to personally do.

That letter could not be more fake. :laughga:

I don't think it's that big of a deal. They've been giving her good reviews and stuff, and she was on this list when they did it a couple times earlier this year. Don't think it's shade at all...wouldn't take it too seriously, guys lol.

Whats is wrong with people here, if Billboard praise her, hype her singles before release, promote her in their every post, appreciate her other interest in industry, award her Women of the Year then Billboard is everything, they are right, they know talent. And when they put fwd their interest they are irrelevant.  :awkney:

Lol @ monsters calling billboard irrelevant and meaningless when just last year they were praising them for naming Gaga WOTY. It seems they're only relevant when they kiss gaga's ass.

Yeah, let's all remember that Rolling Stone gave a terrible review to Zeppelin's self titled album in 1969. The critics get it wrong all the time.
