Exclusivity deals weren't coming to benefit the consumers, but for huge companies to make more profit by forcing fans to pay for their services, and for rich artists to get money more quickly by selling the rights to stream their albums...  ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Tidal was about artists getting payed more, Apple exclusives were about drawing in more users and crushing competition, hence more money. This is good for music EVERYWHERE.
