Lady Gaga Shares Sweet Moment With Selena Gomez At 2016 American Music Awards

Pop superstar Selena Gomez stole the show at the 2016 American Music Awards when she gave a deeply personal speech about her emotional heath problems that caused her to take time off from her music.

"I was absolutely broken inside. And I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down," she told the audience. "But if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken."

"I don't want to see your bodies on Instagram. I want to see what's in here," Selena added, pointing to her heart. "Whether you respect me or not that's one thing you need to know about me is that I care about people."

Among the people inspired by Selena's words was Lady Gaga, who broke down in tears and applauded the "Kill Em with Kindness" singer.

After the show, Gaga shared a touching Instagram photo that showed herself and Selena sharing a hug backstage. Gaga captioned the snap, "So dope I got to hang with with the biggest rockstar of the night, ya know besides Sting and Green Day. The girl with the biggest prize of all. A big heart that she shares with the world."
