Lady Gaga ends the year 2018 with a cherry on top of the cake of achievements as her iconic video for "Bad Romance" reaches 1 billion views on YouTube. The Francis Lawrence directed-visual is one of the few pre-VEVO music videos to reach the milestone (others being "November Rain" by Guns N' Roses and "Numb" by Linkin' Park), and Gaga's first.
"Bad Romance" is without a doubt one of the most-praised and awarded music video of all time. Released in 2009 to promote the lead single from The Fame Monster, the clip won 7 MTV Video Music Awards and a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video, was named Billboard's greatest video of the 2000s and was included in TIME's list of best music videos since the 1980s.
