As someone who hopped onto the Gaga bandwagon right before Applause vs Roar and saw all the "FARTFLOP, KATY IS THE NEW MJ, GAGA COULD NEVER LMAO" mess it feels kinda good to see how Katy is now a c-list pop star who gets dragged any time her name is in the conversation while Gaga is not only extremely popular but well regarded among her peers as an icon and a fantastic person

many major artists have their releases posted and tracked like this, katy is no different

we hear about every taylor variant or every ariana debut or every lizzo flop

I'm no Katy fan but tbh this is the best song she's released in a while (which isn't saying much  )

Watching Roar out perform applause was painful to watch and i enjoyed watching witness flop but its been over a decade now. I no longer understand the gratification in this. 

If the music is trash like her other singles like woman's world etc I completely get the reaction but not when the music is not objectively bad.
