As someone who likes Ava, enjoyed her in concert, and defended her in several threads, this past album and the singles following have been painful for me. Her last 2 singles have lacked flow and at some point her doing a choppy flow to then speed sing the next few lines is just straight up unpleasant. At times the production along with her vocals just sounds too busy. I love loud music but in parts her songs sounds like if you took pots and pans and threw pots and pans at them while screaming while blaring pots and pans at full volume over your speakers. I'm not sure I've ever felt like an artist lacks direction while also maintaining the same note. I find it hard to believe that she has absolutely no artistic incline to ever write a simple ballad that doesn't rely so heavily on production but if she has even a single song on an acoustic guitar I would love to hear it because at this point I'm almost actively avoiding her new music. 4 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Trying something different doesn't mean it is automatically GOOD.
