But a recent study by Ivan Yotzov for the BoE reported that only executives are reporting using only 1.5 hours a week and 9 out of 10 senior managers say that AI in their organisations has had 0 measurable impact on productivity. We're seeing a replication of the Solow's productivity paradox from the 70s & 80s. Where technological advancement actual caused a 2 decade long productivity decline not corrected until the mid-00s which was then wiped out by the effects of the 2008 financial crash. We are decades away from realising any theoretical gains from this technology. And western nations cannot afford further productivity slumps - and we are already at extreme risk of these due to the rise of extremist immigration policies which are exacerbating the productivity and economic drag being caused by ageing domestic populations. AI's positive potential is decades away and exists as immaterial projection, its negative potential is already taking form within the material world. We're seeing entry level role availability slashed, we're seeing rising youth unemployment, we're seeing productivity declining and we're increasingly seeing personal debt rise. AI is not a silver bullet. We've not even mined the silver for it fully yet. The gays know how to party 1

apollorowling 832
All I have to say is, those who complain about AI and use water consumption as an excuse... what do you do for the world? Do you recycle? Do you participate in charity events? Or do you just complain and be hypocritical? 😃

Sorry, I will never ever stick to ecologist or enviromental campaigns, why the **** should I stop taking longer showers or stop using plastic while companies and multimillionaries are wasting resources like nothing? I will never feel blamed for the global warming or disasters happening, my 30 minutes shower for relaxing after working like a ***** everyday is nothing compared at what some industries do to the earth in one day or what millionaries do using their private jets. FFXIV WhiteMage 6,232
You’ll be surprised that almost all technology even years ago, uses AI If you work in the IT field, you’ll know how important AI is in heavy lifting manual works behind softwares - SaaS, PaaS, etc. And yes, it’s the future. We should know better since we’ve seen how internet, computer, and smart phones changed the landscape of our society.

Not at all, I'm glad if you can do it, but at least where I live, which is in a humble neighborhood in Uruguay, it's not just that there's no recycling culture, it's that sometimes it even takes 2 or 3 days to collect the garbage containers 😒 From my experience, recycling in the developing world isn't possible for everyone, and as someone said in a previous comment, I don't feel guilty at all. If multinational corporations don't do anything, my footprint on this planet is worthless compared to a company that wastes, I don't know, 50,000 kg of plastic a week. Linus Gaga 8,475
I’m not a fan of how some people are using AI, especially with fake images and misleading info. I do think there should be proper laws around AI generated stuff... But at the same time, I don’t think we should just hate on AI completely. It’s a nice tool, and it really depends on how people use it really. If we just reject it, we’ll probably end up like the older generation who hated apps and e-payments. Better to regulate it properly and learn to use it, instead of just fighting i guess more on insta @linus9nuts

Lol go and tell the companies and govt about power and water scarcity caused by AI, not me- a literal nobody.

The fun of special effects is knowing someone creative was behind it and achieved something impressive. It's not just about the images presented in the final product... to me, at least. yea I agree with you. beautiful opinion. It literally looks like **** to me, and I will never stand behind anything that steals from an artist. Sloppily shitty ****. And this one particular just looks maximalist for the sake of looking so visually appealing it renders itself even more soulless if it tried to use AI in a less explicit way. AND it's even worse that rich artists who have the funds to pay artists properly, decide to use AI. so yea **** all this lol. Real art will succeed in the end. Mark my words. And yea as a musician, and just a general artist of sorts, the process is something I wish people would never dream to take away. It's just as important, influential, evocative as the finished work it self. And for a lot of us artists, it is apart of why we create. It is catharsis. It's a magical ever-changing journey From beginning to end. But I guess hooray for people who are willing to abuse the gift of art with ai, at the sake of the worlds benefit in the end. I believe art is for all. But people have actually got to do it. ...with that said, I have completely different view with AI in regards to disabled people and art, and it being using a tool to help them create. However, for the majority of NO. NO. And NO.
LadyxGaGa 3,155
when did even become such individualistic little shits, like sure u as an individual doesn’t mean much but why do yall think well if everyone else does i should too??? and thats the entire point is we have to band together to uphold and keep those so called tech oligarchs to a standard but if everyone has their head in the sand then no one is going to listen you can enact change idk what you think of urself so small also for the love of god pls stop comparing the dairy and meat industry to AI people needing nutrients isn’t the same as AI EVERYONE DOESNT NEED AI the idea is that people implementing AI need to go back and figure out how to make it consume less energy and material not wait 20 years from now and be like wait how do we fix this Edited February 28 by LadyxGaGa

That’s not a principled stance, it’s selective outrage. Maybe check the consistency before b!tching about it. The fact that people are so up in arms about this is f*cking hilarious.
