The scandal led to people adding "-gate" at the end of other political scandals. Clinton: Got a consensual BJ and lied about it. Trump: Led a life of crime (sexual assault, tax fraud, theft, money laundering, etc) even before taking office by tapping into the underlying ignorance of blue collar voters who were led astray by alt-right American media as well as getting aide from a foreign country interfering in the election, spreading conspiracies and misinformation about his opponent, and using Trump to weaken the US as an enemy. Eventually was impeached for trying to collude with yet another country to have his 2020 opponents be investigated for made up crimes. Impeached a second time for leading an armed insurrection on the US capitol after he lost his reelection bid. The whole thing is actually very interesting and monumental. It's not just about "a president got a consensual BJ", it's about how this actually affected America and changed the politics of sex.
