Where did you get the impress that I would drag Joanne? I have defended Joanne since Day 1. I love that album. I also do think that Joanne is better than Smile.

That said, Smile is not a bad album. It’s not AMAZING, but it’s a good, cute pop album. I don’t understand why y’all hate it so damn much. It’s literally because it’s Katy Perry. This fan base has this vendetta against her and it’s pathetic honestly.

You’re on a forum dedicated to LADY GAGA, of course you’re going to think all of her albums are “top tier.” And look, I DO think they’re all top tier, but Smile isn’t a bad album. It’s not an INCREDIBLE album, but y’all need to stop acting like it’s the worst album ever made. It’s a cute pop album, that’s it, and that’s all it needed to be.

I agree that it’s a decent album.

With Christina, it was more gradual. Katy went went from from having gigantic hits to pretty much obscurity in only five years. 
 
Christina was already pretty much over when Katy debuted so it was impressive that she was still able to release an album.     

Liberation was a bomb but it never got the press coverage and promotion that Smile had.
