Sour Candy debuting at #8 in Australia... Only one spot lower than Stupid Love :air:

I'm so happy for her! My country is finally paying her some attention. Rain On Me holding #2 for the second week in a row. Sour Candy at #8... SL's peak was #7.

Not a fair comparison tbh. Chromatica already decreased a lot over the week. A better comparison would be Day 1 to Day 8 decrease.

(from ATRL)

Spotify Day 8

Lover 26.2M (-9.5%)
Changes 20.2M (-5.5%)
Future Nostalgia 17.4M (-2.5%)
Chromatica 14.6M (-4%)
Rare 12.5M (-5.5%)

Well at least we are doing better than the Rare chanteuse :poot:

Also all those albums had a bigger lead single already doing great streams before the album drop in addition to a 2nd single/+ song pushed with the album. SL is barely doing better then the album tracks :enigma:

Percentage drop is more important than actual numbers, since it indicates the trajectory and what's next.

Percentage drop is pretty meaningless if things are at different phases of the curve.

Scientifically speaking, a good comparison would be taking out the top 3 and bottom 3 songs of an album, and taking the average streams. Then normalising to 1 for debut day.

I believe that's why the album chart rules in the UK uses a similar methodology. It better reflects the consumption of an album, rather than singles from an album. By using an average, you ensure that albums with more tracks don't have a built-in advantage.

The excitement and buzz etc etc. Katy is still a main pop girl.

I didn’t count her out after Witness and always said she can still bounce back for the next era but given how her droplets bar NRO made any noise, well :huntyga:

The Observer reviewed Chromatica and gave it a 80.

It counts for metacritic.

I hope HDD will say something about Chromatica possibly being #1 again when they post their predictions for new releases
