President Donald Trump in an interview with Fox News painted a dark picture of people "living in hell" due to homelessness in major U.S. cities, claiming that it is "a phenomenon that started two years ago," blaming Democratic mayorsfor the problem.

By contrast, Carlson noted that American cities including Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and San Francisco have a problem with what he called "filth."

He pointed to the "liberal establishment" and sanctuary cities run by "very liberal people" to blame for this crisis.

"It's a phenomenon that started two years ago. It's disgraceful," Trump said in response, seeming to refer to when he took office in 2017.

”We have to take the people and do something. We have to do something," Trump said. "That's not really the kind of work that the government probably should be doing. We never had this in our lives before in our country."

Can he like just shut up and at least pretend that he’s not stupid? I mean is this him really being stupid or just saying this because he knows that his supporters are not really intelligent (which will probably be proven in this thread once again)? Whatever it is - it needs to stop.

So he isn't actually referring to homelessness, but the gruesome reality of it? Just because he didn't have to see it until two years ago doesn't mean it didn't exist. It sounds like the solution isn't to help the homeless find resources and support, but to relocate them so the middle and upper class don't have to look at them. This is the man millions voted for.

Gentrification is alive and well.

If you read his comments he doesn’t care about the homeless themselves or trying to solve that actual problem, he cares more about the visibility and impact on property values and “beauty”.
