SKANK 14,288 Posted June 7, 2019 Share Posted June 7, 2019 When an artist draws inspiration from their culture, upbringing, and stays in their lane “she’s doing that again?” When an artist draws inspiration from another culture, and steps a toe out of their lane, “appropriation!” I’m not a Madonna fan, but clearly there is nothing she can do that won’t draw complaints. The fact some can't tell a song ABOUT Joan of Arc and FEELING like Joan of Arc but will make essays about their basic faves and their superficial pop songs.
