aaronyoji 2,055
Wearing fur is disgusting. End of discussion. Gaga is fukcing disgusting too (if it was real fur). sooo your opinion will automatically switch just like that if it turns out to be real? god get a grip. also, cars use leather for seats, should we just burn down those cars as well? and if animals deserve rights, then should they have a say in who wins the american primary? eris servant 0
I was just thinking that. I don't know how serious animal activists are still fans of Lady Gaga after the meat dress. She went out of her way for that, the fur dresses were made by other people and she's simply endorsing the products. She also has always had a crazy obsession over leather. There is a difference between meat and fur. Leather often (not always) comes from animals that are used for food - leather jackets (cow, lamb). But to make just ONE fur coat, you have to kill dozens of animals, and their bodies are later disposed. Meat is an important part of our diet. We need meat, our digestive system is built to process meat. Luckily, we don't need fur to survive anymore. And killing animals for luxury is atrocious. Philip 4
I think it is equally disgusting to wear fur as it is to wear leather, both industries are absolutely awful. Considering GaGa's role in the fashion industry I think it is particularly shameful for her to be wearing fur. She flip/flops on issues more then Willard Romeny. I don't like it. She wants to get an Osho tattoo but eats meat and wears fur, she is the Avril Lavinge of spirituality...pure bull****. I like her reply though, it made me laugh. People take her so seriously on these things. Did you see the thread where she didn't wear heels? People "lost respect" for her. She's a popstar who fights for gay rights, I think people should focus on that instead.
Benjamin Monk 0
I knew this was coming. I find her quite rude. I'm a vegetarian and I find it disrespectful that she slags my beliefs. It would be a different story if I said I love seeing gay people being bullied. She wouldn't stand for it. So if she wants her beliefs respected she needs to do the same.. Like it just isn't acceptable. I will lose complete respect for her if it is real fur.... So everyone has to share YOUR beliefs as not to offend you? It's obviously fine to be against leather and meat and fur but you can't expect everyone else not to indulge in it just to spare your feelings

Philip 4
People people, LEATHER IS AS ALSO SKIN BUT WITHOUT THE HAIR. I see no one complaining about that so far? Everyone loves the Noritaka Tatehana shoes? There is a difference between meat and fur. Leather often (not always) comes from animals that are used for food - leather jackets (cow, lamb). Vegans survive very easily And also, in colder regions people need fur to survive, even these days. Edited August 13, 2012 by Philip
eddy223 0
I think it's senseless to protest fur in a world where mostly everyone eats meat, wears leather and uses other animal product. I completely agree, The meat industry is just as ridiculous as the fur industry, say what you want to say its true. Just because the whole anti fur thing has gotten into pop culture doesn't make it a bigger deal than the meat industry, they're both the exact same deal. Annoys me when someone says OMG DON'T WEAR FUR GAGS, yet that person is probably digesting some kind of meat and wearing some kind of leather on their shoes. Just stop Baby steps first, and if people can't change their eating habits because they "love meat" or "need meat" (which no one does), then shut up. change what you eat and wear yourself before you go out and stand up for so called animal rights. I don't eat meat, and I don't wear fur (not like I can afford it anyways), and I still don't bash on people who do either or. Although I do wear leather, but who doesn't. Leather and Fur are pretty much the same deal sadly, but its something society as a whole needs to change, and No pop star is going to start that movement. Especially one that the world already has so much hate for. If you really want something to be done about it, then start by working on yourselves. xoxo Edited August 13, 2012 by eddy223

bionic 50,107
You can't say yes to the meat dress and no to the fur, it's the same thing. Animals killed for humans to use, whether it be through consumption or fashion. Don't be a hypocrite
