Petie Estie 5,704
Catholics and anti-abortionists have been comparing abortion to genocide for decades. it's one of the most ignorant "opinions" there is. Call your therapist...it's Petie Estie

jezze0410 395
I generally avoid such discussions here, but speaking as an agnostic who has not been terribly fond of the direction in which Pope Francis has been taking the Catholic Church, I don't think he quite deserves the derision here; the thread title is misleading and unnecessarily emotive. From the article it is quite clear that the Pope is referring specifically to abortions performed solely because of genetic defects or other physical abnormalities detected in the foetus, and it is impossible to argue that this bears no similarities to eugenics, a practice for which the Nazis were known. The only thing for which I might criticise the Pope in this instance is the unnecessary comparison with the Nazis when so many respected individuals (H.G. Wells, Teddy Roosevelt, and Churchill, to name a few) have also supported eugenics. tl;dr: Pope is comparing a subset of abortions with eugenics, not comparing all abortions with Nazi atrocities, as the thread title implies. Florian 20,017
That tweet is pure clickbait He compared abortion to an "eugenics in white gloves" because nowadays during the pregnancy, if your baby is meant to be born with a disease/malformation you can abort. (Hence you chose the genes). While I'm pro-abortion he's making a point as the nazis were doing the same. Now do I think it's bad ? No If you want to avoid your children a life of suffering that's your choice.

Do women that abort so their children won't suffer REALLY need to hear that? They definitely don't get out of the hospital like nothing has ever happened, many (if not all) of the women carry that pain for the rest of their lifes, and yet someone they might even follow tell them that they went through a nazi-like medical procedure
