I mean, I'd like to believe this to be true but I feel he's just doing this for attention and will just make more generic music that'll be number 1 for 46 weeks

I find this claim very hard to believe. So many singers claim to be quitting music and then start making a comeback a few years later and say they just couldn't give up their passion. They realise that they miss the thrill of seeing their music chart, the millions earned every year, the constant receiving of awards and playing for adoring fans, even if they don't say that. And judging by what he's been saying in interviews about Adele being his only sales competition and how you've got to listen to record labels when they say you've got to put out a hit and taking the hump when he only got 2 Grammy nominations, I'd say his ego's far too big to ever properly quit. I'd bet that he's just saying this to get his fans worried. He got back with Cherry about a year after his second album came out and said that he was going to take a long break from music to enjoy being with her and doing work for charity. 2 years later, we get Divide. So much for a long break. He even said when he came back: "Remind me never to take such a long break again because I was forgetting all the words to my past songs." So, the idea that he could give it all up for kids...I'll believe it when I see it. Most men don't give up their career when they become fathers, society ensures that this concept isn't encouraged for them as a necessity. If he has a wife who's staying at home, why does he need to stay at home too, both of you doing nothing except raising a child all day? That's going to bore you to death. Plus, your child will grow up thinking it's normal to not work. Plenty of mothers and fathers all over the world have to work because they don't have a choice and they're still good parents. I'm sick of celebrity women quitting the business when they have children because they reason that's the only way they can be a good mothers, which is an insult to all the good working mothers out there. I don't want men getting the same way too.
