Would You Still Listen to Melanie Martinez's Music?

I've been completely indulged in this situation for the last few days, and I've seen a lot of differing opinions online so I thought I'd ask it here just to see what people think

For people who considered themselves fans of Melanie (pre-accusation), if Melanie is proven guilty (or admits 100% to it) would you morally be ok with continuing to listen to her music and watching her music videos, without wanting to directly support or condone the actions that she's done.

I've seen 2 major groups of people, one who want to dismiss anything Melanie has/is/will do, and completely stay away from her music because they think its indirectly supporting a rapist. Another group of people think that even they in no way want to advocate for her, or her actions, they can still listen to her music, or watch her music videos, and be able to enjoy them, and separate the art from the artist.

What do you guys think, and if you weren't a Melanie fan, if Gaga was accused of sexual assault, would you still enjoy her work, or would you just be done with everything she's made in her career.

(The decision might seem obvious, but Idk I've seen an almost equal amount of people online for each side of the argument)

With all these people in the entertainment industry being accused, will we still watch movies or shows they had a part in?  It's a big question tbh. idk.

I'm not a fan of Melanie but I downloaded her album a couple of months ago. I haven't listened to it yet because I wanted to watch the music videos instead but haven't had the time to do it. If she's proven guilty yes, I will still listen to her music. Would I think she's a disgusting person and should get punishment for what she did ? Yes, but I can still listen to her music and not be affected by what she has done.

I was just thinking about Kevin Spacey. We know he has been accused by more than 10 people but yeah,  I do think he messed up but American Beauty is still one of my favorite movies of all time. I will still watch House of Cards and probably other movies he has done because he's a great actor and those are good quality films/tv shows.

Yes.

Even if Gaga is the nicest person on Earth and deserves nothing but good things, I'm not going to listen to her music if I don't like it.

If I like Melanie Martinez music, I might listen to it. I don't connect her personal life with her work. Her personal life issues will be dealt in the right place.

I think you're holding yourself to too high of a standard if you don't enjoy someone's artwork because of something that they've done. It's simply too much work to judge how someone is as a person and then determine whether or not you will listen to their music/watch their movie/etc.

However, I do think it's important to curb how much of your money goes to a person who has done bad things, within reason. For instance, I've never listened to Melanie Martinez's music and I'm not going to start now, because then she would be profiting from (potential) bad behavior.

I never listened to her music before, so it will be easy for me to not do it in the future.

I believe its a personal decision, and I can see both sides... It's with any sort of admission or expose of an artist/producer/whatever's bad behavior. And it depends on how you personally see the severity of the crime, act, etc.

Personally, I won't be supporting her financially any more at the least., I've had concert tickets, I bought Crybaby, etc.

As for whether I'll listen to her music anymore?

I'm honestly not sure, but I havent been listening to her music in the last year anyway, and this certainly hasn't motivated me (though I do like her music, for the record)

I was expecting her second album to be better than the first one, I thought she was interesting... But she's just okay. Sorry Melanie, next.

I used to like some of her songs but I personally wouldn't feel comfortable listening to her music now knowing what she's done.
