It's sad that Americans on here are saying they aren't surprised by this anymore because that means we as a people/country are desensitized to this now and our government especially now isn't doing **** to fix it. I know whenever I go to school, the mall, the movies, or any public place my first instinct is to look for exits and ways to get out fast in case anything happens and it shouldn't be like this we should feel safe especially at school

but there are gun laws though.  Guns are prohibited on school property.  Schools are naturally gun free zones. That doesnt stop people from bringing them in though.

It's complicated. I agree something needs to be done, but second amendment insanity aside, the laws are made on the state level so to shift that to the federal is going to be a hell of a hard job to accomplish. State governments hate giving up authority to the feds. It should and needs to be done, but seeing the layers of complexity, I see why it's so difficult to get traction on it especially when people just forget about it a few weeks after a tragedy.

but people can easily get access to guns. ofc schools are gun free zones, but that doesn't do ****, obviously

ikr, that schools are expected to be gun-free should be a no-brainer tbh, and it should be a no-brainer aswell that there is a possibility that a person can aquire a gun and then enter a "gun-free" school zone.
