I would watch his videos again because even though I did not agree with most of his Joanne review he seems honest, not like that Dylan guy.

OT: The album deserves a 5/10 tbh. It's average, not really terrible.

Well, Born This Way had a very clear target audience of 13 year old outcast kids which is why it's understandable that a 30-something y/o man wouldn't like it.

It wasn't criticism, it's just the truth. I mean, just listen to Hair and Bad Kids lol. Of course some songs like Heavy Metal Lover and Scheisse are for more mature audiences but the album was aimed at that generation, you can't deny it.

I think I understand what he wants from her: He acknowledges her talent -that's undeniable- but he wants her to be more daring and revealing. What we -as a fanbase- wanted Gaga to avoid (a complete change), music critics seem to demand it from her.

What makes you believe that? I think Born This Way really isn't the type of album a 13 years old kid would listen to

My 13 years old self tends to disagree :stalkga:

Yeah I get it too but some of those things are pretty subjective, I wanted Gaga to go all out and change her whole sound too, but I was happy with how Joanne turned out to be. She mixed all of those genres but still made a pop album and that's nice and should be praised. I don't understand why these critics want her to go all country or rock or whatever instead of accepting the fact that she uses elements from those genres but keeps the sound accesible for her listeners, and I bet you that if she went full country on Joanne they would be dragging her saying that pop music is what she's best at and shouldn't have ditched it.

I completely agree with you, I was 13 when BTW came out and I could totally relate to it, my favorite non singles songs from the album were exactly Hair & Bad Kids (which I can't listen to anymore cause the lyrics are way too cheesy :air:).

Glory deserved 80+ :grr: Her best since Blackout

I was like 13/14/15 when Born This Way was released and I loved it too but I don't know, I don't feel like it's the kind of album an teenager would want to listen to... Idk lol

I completely agree with you. They might see that Gaga wants deep inside to create a whole different project, but somenthing is holding her back. Maybe her fans, maybe the people who will drag her. I think they see she is very talented and they demand that "change" just show us more, because she is capable to succeed in whatever she wants, at least in the music scene.

Glory was great, better than Britney Jean for sure but underwhelming there are songs like Clumsy & Private Show which are really killing the album.

Um, I think you're talking about Prism. Born This Way is in no way, whatsoever, geared towards 13 year olds. I'd say late teens to 25, maybe 30's.

I honestly want Gaga to go all out if that's what she feels like doing and I hope the critics praise her if she does. She will do amazing, in the meantime I'm going to enjoy these projects where she's still experimenting but keeping her sound pop.

Unless metal is what she wants to do next.:giggle:

I'll admit that those two are cheesey, but to say the entire album, all 17 songs, are aimed at kids because of 2 songs, you're wrong.
