That was not a Pro-Pence post, but a pro-America post. At least, how I read it.

I don't know much, nor do I care that much, about Pence. It's getting hung up on "Pence" that has most of you missing our point.

My entire point was about how the focus on rhetoric and temperament is not a point that is relevant to voters or to policies, and yet you cited temperament as a main issue in your post.

:awkney:

It is entirely relevant.

Rhetoric has a very very strong effect on the country, as I've said. That's a MAJOR reason people vote for their president, they believe the rhetoric will translate into policy and practice.

Also, the presidency is not a job where you just wave your hands and make things happen. You have to have MATURITY, good speaking skills, diplomacy, a willingness to compromise, respect for all other people, and a hell of a lot more. Donald Trump showed repeatedly that he has none of these. This is just how effective leadership governs. Why should the President be someone who does not have the interets of all of his people in mind? If you don't think that's relevant :smh:

Ofc, if you believe "political correctness" is destroying this country, then ofc, you think words are just words :smh: Words motivate actions, and Donald Trump has re-ignited bigotry into this country, its literally spreading like wildfire.

Also, if you dont want to talk about rhetoric and temperament, Hillary Clinton was objectively a more qualified candidate. She has a history in compromise, had very good approval ratings, was known as a good mediator, good diplomacy skills, experience in the white house itself, and is very intelligent and had good policies; on top of that she was malleable, and known for reaching across the aisle to make change happen.

You can NOT seriously defend Trump on the basis that if you remove rhetoric and temperament, he was even a decent candidate. He had almost no policy of his own, just general statements he couldn't explain, he showed his lack of expertise at every time. He WON because of Rhetoric. He should have lost because of Rhetoric, Temperament, and qualification. He's not fit to lead.

People get more stupid everyday in this forum. I can't believe there's people who actually think Pence deserves some kind of respect. I'd spit on your face if this wasn't the internet.

People are disgusting. It's one thing to boo someone at a rally. It's another to boo someone who is enjoying a Broadway show as a private citizen.

Grow up, America.

I agree. I guess I have too much class. I could never disrespect anyone who even slightly differed in opinion from me; even a sketchy man like Mike Pence. I treat others how I wish to be treated. And if that makes me "vulnerable" during the next four years, so be it.

One Five Ten

This is what Pence gets for going to a musical featuring a song with the line:

"Immigrants: we get the job done"
