I agree. Her voice has so much light and shade in it - it's a shame she won't use it to her advantage. I did't buy the emotion in this performance at all.. primarily because of the overly loud vocal. I mean, if she had a whole band with a powerful intrumentation to back her up the screaming could work, but not with a piano. Song does not have any vocal melody and instrumentation is heavy, on piano it sounds like she plays couple chords, and screams over those chords. Applause has heavy instrumentation and not much a vocal melody in the chorus, either. It's like you guys decided to hate PI and allow that hate to overshadow her performance.
