I like her to get a bit more famous, her songs are good and I think much more enjoyable than Jessie J's

Rita Ora has been hyped globally, has UK chart topping singles, successful debut album ranking her #1 on the UK albums list, selling over 41K first week. Rita's success with singles didn't become a thing until she collaborated with Iggy Azalea and charted on the BBHot100 for the very first time in the US. She's attending various award shows such at the MTV VMAs, Oscars, BET Awards, Grammy's, etc. With the amount of promo she has been given in the US you'd think she'd be able to officially have a mainstream career and recording breaking, chart topping singles. The only time she's been in a negative light is when ASAP dissed her & when she had an alleged beef with Rihanna. With even more massive promo, do you think Rita Ora has a chance at becoming a mainstream artist?

You mean, a mainstream musical artist in the US? Maybe, maybe not.

Generally, I think she's known globally, even in the US. The main problem is her lack of musical output. She hasn't really been releasing music recently (but it's understandable because few months ago she sued her own record label, Roc Nation, and that process is still unresolved). Lately, she's more known as a celebrity than a singer. She ventured into fashion and has many endorsements there, so she's more focused on that. It's a shame because I think she's a great singer (with not-so-great music).

The fact that she attended various US award shows doesn't equal promo. She mostly didn't perform there, she presented awards, how is that serious promotion?

Rita basically promoted herself, without the help from Roc Nation (which is a US label, they don't have global presence). Her management booked her shows, got her deals, etc. People are still convinced that RN 'pushed' her and got her everything which is completely untrue b/c she's not managed by them in any way, they are (were) just her record label. However, they did have a major influence on the type of music she released.

i would disagree with the last statement but whatever. i didn't see anything rude so i can't say you said anything rude in the op. it just seemed like ppl were upset on the first page and said the word azealia, then i checked the op more thoroughly because the title said rita ora. i assumed you said something mean about her. idk.

unforutunately no

I like her music but she's just not big in the US.

But I hear she's big in the UK

She's had huge success here in the UK but still isn't regarded as a force in the industry.  Comes along,  releases a catchy song,  gets #1 and that's about it.  I can't see her having global success anytime soon.

Her music isn't really the best either although I loved Body On Me and Poison.

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
