Don't come for me like that. For one, your criticism of me is inaccurate. If I didn't like people criticizing a topic I would have warned the people saying "Free Palestine!" on page one, but I didn't. I do a fine job as a Moderator allowing people to criticize topics constructively; I'm just here to make sure the conversation stays on topic. And historically this particular topic has ended with people jumping down each other's throats over their stances. 

This thread is about a holy site being set on fire, and it seemed Simon's initial intentions with the thread were to focus on that individual topic, preferably in a way that is respectful to the holy site that was lost. Page 5 had people talking about Egpyt (which is about 720 miles away from the site this thread is actually about), so clearly we've veered a bit off course since Page 1.

Maybe it is time for a central thread again.

Maybe it is time for a central thread again.

I think it will turn into a mess like the previous one. Ideally we would like to share infos and data from various sources and compare them but it always end in a pro Israel vs pro Palestine, not listening to each other and not willing to see other problems at stake there (for example a two state solution is not an ideal solution for Israel because they are pretty much surrounded by countries that aren't allies, so for some giving a state to Palestinians is opening the door for enemies...)

Same thing that is happening with these threads. The same people posting the same type of threads, many coming from media sources like Fox News in the US. If I want to know why this is a never ending war that's been going on for as long as any of us have been on this earth, all I have to do is look at the discussion in these threads over the last couple of years. What's going to change?

i'm honestly fine with the mess that was happening in the last central thread. thats what this conflict is, a mess and it lets us see some users true colors  .

 

but its obvious that you cant contain the mess unless you stop all threads about this conflict from being posted because every single one of them just turns into what you dont want( a mess). might as well keep the mess contained to one thread and not have it clutter the news section just because a few members love fighting their mini propaganda ( ) war on GGD.

Well some of the thread have a very specific topic so basically if you are derailing the topic you get warning point and if you already don't agree with the title then you are free to not enter it. I also think a central thread would be better but the last time it was impossible to read it was just constant arguing and a few links for news here and there. At least here we have the OP.

I got warning points for personal insults toward other members.  I think disagreeing with a topic or opinion is just fine.  I like the arguments even if they go off topic because it helps me research other view points that I haven't come in contact with before. 

I can clearly see a 'tunnel vision' perspective from some the posters tho, and it's disturbing as the source of the single mindedness presented.
