She does not even wear outrageous costumes though (not THAT 'outrageous')   And girl, every main female artist that has worn such costumes have been influenced by Gaga since she brought it back to the scene  

I'm not trying to discredit Gaga, but pop stars like Katy and Rihanna were starting to be quirky, eccentric, and outrageous before Gaga made her debut and got popular.

Well, I think Nicki has said that she had some inspiration from Gaga but was mainly influenced by Lil' Kim. Whatever the case may be though I'm sure she has been asked that question to death. There was probably a better way she could have responded but I can understand that it must be frustrated to hear the same questions over and over for years.

I also think the alter ego thing is done a lot in music. Eminem's "Slim Shady" was what made him huge. "Roman" I think is Nicki's more unfiltered, crazy, aggressive side. And isn't there an English alter ego of hers? I think Bey and Brit have one too. 

As for who took inspiration from what, I think it's great when artists can inspire other artists, especially if an artist can take it and give it something different to make it their own. It's like having two different personalities craft a bold, exquisite painting or giving their interpretations of the same masterpiece novel.

To be fair, almost every female popstar who has gone through 2011-present has had their 'Gaga phase'. Call me delusional or whatever, Gaga changed the game ever since she pierced into the industry. Anyone who follows pop culture and the music industry religiously can validate this.

Well Gaga's impact during her first years forced other artists to follow the same formula. I think there were some exceptions like Beyonce and Rihanna, but Nicki was obviously following the Gaga formula.

She was a renewed version of Lil Kim dressed up as Lady Gaga. Now she has being herself and it's pretty obvious that all that gimmick was fake.
