Shadow 6,637
What do you mean? Are you implying there are people who get pushed to transition? I don't understand what you're saying. Remember the whole bullying campaign? Some kids get pushed into directions they don't understand, it happens. Stand in the light, cast your shadow. Morphine Prince 106,283
Remember the whole bullying campaign? Some kids get pushed into directions they don't understand, it happens. That's probably a VERY small minority that has nothing to do with Bruce. Gender identity is something transgender people have to deal with their ENTIRE lives.

Chase 407
SLAY. For all of you saying how she is milking this for media, in my opinion, I think it's perfectly fine for her to be open and expose her lifechanging moment. After all, Bruce was a popular icon in common culture in the United States.
Shadow 6,637
That's probably a VERY small minority that has nothing to do with Bruce. Gender identity is something transgender people have to deal with their ENTIRE lives. Did you just marginalize a minority in favor of another minority? You know, transgender folks were considered a Very small minority at one point. Everyone has to deal with their own identity s--t their entire lives. Why do people insist that their entire lives are more important that the entire lives of others? Everyone is equal or that is the ultimate goal, right? Stand in the light, cast your shadow. Shaney 5,515
Where was the pressure? He already won the gold medal and if he wanted to become a woman, wouldn't that be his/her choice? It is a free country and she was able to do what she wished. Why does everyone have to agree with everything when you're free to begin with to do what you wish? Why care what anyone thinks? The pressure comes with the fear of coming out to the entire world. The fear of letting everyone who looked up to you down. I think that during his childhood, it was instilled in him that he shouldn't be act like a girl or dress in girls clothes. If you watched the documentary you probably remember the part where he visited his hometown. Growing up and becoming a track champion, and being around an environment where if you are labeled as gay, let alone trans, you would be tormented for it. I think Bruce was being smart about the right time to come out, despite his pain. His situation through out his entire life didn't allow for it. He was a MALE athlete, had tons of children. I can see where his pressure came from. Lastly, people can say they don't care what people think all the **** they want. In reality, you do. Conformity is human nature. No one wants to be labeled as different. It's just the way it is. I think Bruce's situation made that problem even worse. Your questions don't make sense to me. We still live in a generation where if you come out as gay, it's a risk you choose to take. I am so proud of Caitlyn, she can finally live her life. It's never too late. Shadow 6,637
I appreciate your reasonable response. However, I don't feel like people here understand where I am coming from or are one of those people that expect everyone to agree with their worldview. I learned long time ago it hardly ever works that way with people. I have no issue with transgender people and have defended and supported them before. It's just the way they put this story so heavily in the media, hence I have more respect for documentaries that cover this sort of thing in a more serious manner. So I'll let this go, good day. Blue Jeans 3,815
Did you just marginalize a minority in favor of another minority? What minority are you talking about ? because confused teens are not a community per se.. so you're kind of mixing everything up Destiny is for losers. Whispering 18,865
Yeah, an entire "special" about this one guy wanting to become one woman. I actually commend those who were able to miss all this. All this seems to make a spectacle of it, but aren't they just people whatever their s-xual identity? Are people really interested in this or is the media shoving it down our throats whether we want to know about it or not?People are really interested in it. My social media feed is blowing up with positive comments! Do you not realize how important all of this is?
