The "mainstream media" is not obliged to report on Madonna's, nor anyone else's, chart achievements. Despite what many of you may think: Pop girls and their chart stats are completely irrelevant to the real world. No one cares. Gaga, Madonna, Beyonce, Katy, Rihanna, etc. Absolutely no one gives a **** about any of them.

The only Billboard charts that matter are the hot 100 and the top 200.

All others mean nothing.

US is not the only country in the world LOL

It's the only one with Billboard charts that matter.

Most countries use their own charts and not any of Billboards.

I'm done with discussing subjective matters such as their voice aspects, Gaga obviously has the stronger voice out of the two, but there are genres within genres and a million vocal styles that could be incorporated onto musical melodies, Some of which Gaga shines in & some of which Madonna shines it, as they have a different range. This discussion is entirely empty and not objective.

Madonna didn't even get "musically adventurous" until about 6+ years into her career. It took her quite a long time to get to that point and even then I think shes by far the most overrated pop artist on the planet. That by no means means I do not like her nor does it mean she wasn't adventurous, but of course you are on some rant on this forum about how much more superior Madonna is than Gaga in terms of musicality. Which I think is bull tbh. You may not personally describe it so but I think Born This way was quite adventurous musically considering its fusion of genres, lyrically I think it had some clunkers but it by no means was a safe record nor was it less adventurous than a majority of Madonnas work. Madonna has had years and years and years of albums which equate to years and years and years of dipping her toes into different forms and genres. So technically yes she has been more adventurous, but because of the amount of years shes been in the business not because of quality. Lady Gaga is so unabashedly mainstream and at times corny so therefore there are plenty of people that refuse to give her credit where credit is due. I think shes far less basic than you give her credit for and I think while she may not be avant garde like Bjork, political like MIA or as aesthetically on trend as FKA Twigs, I think shes on their level in terms of integrity, risk taking, and authenticity. Its all relative to the game they're each individually playing.

Which is why i said Gaga has yet to be more adventurous (doesn't matter what reason held her back so far) in order for the fans to be able to call her "the queen of music" and not sound like reaching delusional freaks, I mean, they will sound like that anyway, but at least by then they'd have a substance that they can organize their statement on.

I'm sorry, but weren't you the one who followed this ridiculous logic of "love and hate" when it comes to Madonna? "shes by far the most overrated pop artist on the planet" - that same logic could be applied here as well & contradicts you in each way possible. As much of overrated ness Madonna has received throughout her career, she also experienced the opposite side to it. Albums like Erotica, Bedtime Stories & American Life were critically panned and commercially weak despite being great records. - Erotica being her most original (for the lack of a better word) album yet, add its risky, daring and adventurous musical soundscape & lyrics.

I never said Gaga is basic, chill. She's indeed on the same level in terms of integrity and artistic intelligence, but she hadn't put anything that is up to par with these artists yet. & I'd like to believe critics would agree with me.

LOLOL Discrimination? The Inquisitr? Dear Lord. The dance charts mean very little indeed, why would ANYONE report on such a silly achievement? Good for her, I guess, but when and where do you hear about how much the Rolling Stones have sold? When Madonna smashes it on tour you do hear about it, so I don't know what people are complaining about. Everyone is jumping on the ageism-s-xism bandwagon now...

Definitely s-xism and ageism at hand here. Now that I think about it, no one discusses any male musicians or bands like they do with female musicians. It's really sad.

Thats only because gay fans don't care about male pop stars, regardless, the media does.

I dont agree with the OP, though.
