I think it's a good thing for Mariah now, but I hope she will be release also new music in a proper way and play the right cards since this is gonna bring new promo at her. Britney seems to really be enjoying her residency, so hopefully so will Mariah. Don't they have totally control over their show? I bet it's nice to be able to perform and get paid the big bucks without the hassle of travel. Plus it's more time to spend with their families. Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. As of this week, Mimi’s become “the first ever western artist to play 5 stadiums in China and the first ever western artist to perform in Tianjin.†And Britney latest tours went well as well, it's just more comfortable for them choose the Vegas option (that they offer it to you if you're a legend after a long career), because they earn a lot of money, and they don't have go around the world, it's less stressful, plus both Mariah and Britney have a family with little children to care about and Mariah is in the middle of one of the most expensive divorce. Come one... every commercial singer on the planet wants to be a touring force, it's just that Mariah somehow hasn't established herself as one, inspite of her voice. I think it's because she's always been trying to stage some spectacular extravaganza, and the audiences never bought it, as I assume they wanted her to focus on a simple show focused on her vocals. Mariah is not like Madonna or other singers that dance or create visuals shows in which she can lip-synch because she is justified for the moves, people are expecting to hear her sings live, and in the last years she had troubles and also nodules on her vocal cords. Tours have became a bid deal only in the last decade basically if you check the list, and before that she made tours like the others, and recently like you said she focused on the audiences that still follows her like the Asian one. Plus Mariah is also producer and songwriter of her own songs and albums (and she earns also more compared to others for that), she follows her projects in every step-detail, she's not like Céline that she sings only songs that they wrote and already produced for her, so she had also less time to focus on tour.
